One of the reasons I don't dislike Hootie Johnson of Augusta National Golf Club is because I believe that in his heart, he would be fine with allowing a female member of the club -- as long as it was the decision of the club's members and not dictated by rabble-rousing outsiders with an agenda that has nothing to do with progress and everything to do with drawing attention to themselves.
I am sure the guys at Kraft -- who are part of the conglomerate formerly known as Philip Morris -- remember all too well the way greedy lawyers and cash-thirsty attorneys general gutted the tobacco industry with a dull knife, and want to avoid another bloodbath. Still, it's got to be pretty doggone emasculating when some wackjob lawyer from the Bay Area sues you over Oreo cookies, ADMITS that he's doing it just to get attention, GETS the attention, and you have to change everything about your company as a result.

Noooooooooo! I'm thin and healthy and I enjoy oreos and fake cheese. Why do I have to be punished because stupid people don't know when to quit stuffing their faces?
I went to lunch with a plus-sized woman once. We ordered meal-sized salads. I had mine with an unsweetened iced tea. She had hers with a large order of fries and a big soda. Then she sat there and told me about how her thyroid was making her heavy. It's never their fault of course. >:(

Cave ? They make the portions smaller and charge the same, they stop "advertising" in schools and stop wasting dollars that are disguised bribes to peddle a few products in the school that can't turn a profit.
Yep, those bad lawyers made them lower portions sizes and raise profits. Those evil lawyers got them off the hook on paying for the ads to the schools. Next time maybe we throw them in the briar patch.

Oh no. This will just make everyone live longer, and then we will have to pay out more for social security and medicare and prescription drugs. This is really bad for the health of the balanced budget. This must be stopped at all cost, or the government will go bankrupt. Oh the horror!!!

The maker of Oreo cookies and Velveeta cheese spreads said this year it will develop a range of standards to improve the overall nutritional content of its products...It'll be interesting to see how they end up doing this. If all they do is cut fat content, they'll end up causing more obesity, not less. The only way to make low-fat food taste palatable is to jack up the carbs, which is not only what actually ends up adding to your waistline but also what screws with your blood sugar levels and ends up making you crave more food.
Eat regular-fat foods (unless you have a specific medical condition that requires you to do otherwise), and eat it in moderation. If you're gaining weight and don't want to, start monitoring the carbohydrates you're taking in and cutting back on them until your weight stabilizes. Cut back further temporarily if you need to lose. That's really all there is to it.

Industry is just as guilty as the lawsuit thieves. It is time to stop caving in to "COURTROOM THEFT"!It is time to stop allowing a mere handful of people dictate to the majority.

Ah, the good old days. Oreos were never the same after they quit using lard for the white center.

They use some kind of goofy fat that is far less healthy then they could be using...I saw something on O'Reily about it, and the doctor who was taking Oreos to task had good points.

So Kraft is kowtowing to lawyerroaches, huh?
They will do all this reformulation and repackaging and pass the cost on to the consumer, BTW.
The packaging mill where I work will make their new revamped boxes once we design one they like. More money spent, more costs for the consumer.
Know who suffers the most? The lower middle class.

The sad thing is that Kraft will do all of this b-tt kissing and still get sued. You can't placate these people. You either fight them to the death or capitulate. The only negotiating they do is over your complete surrender.

The company, which used to promote its products on Channel One, a news channel played in secondary schools, will now cease all in-school marketing. I can see it now--"This program is brought to you by Fresh Squash and New Potatoes!"

Obesity among adults in the United States has doubled since 1980, and tripled among adolescents, according to the U.S. surgeon general. This is not Kraft's problem. This is a parenting problem. If you're a fatty parent, you're probably less likely to worry about your kids getting fat. You probably secretly enjoy it, to take the glare off of your fat belly.

Just when Oreos begin to do a little innovating, such as adding new fillings and such (the sweet peanut butter filling is habit-forming and should be banned!), now they want all of us cookie lovers to go on a diet! I'm on a diet now and my wife knows it, but she never fails to fill the cookie jar with Oreos. So far I resist them, but if they change them to no-cal, I won't miss them.

When I first read "revamping" and before I read the article, I thought maybe Kraft had made the oreo middle a creamy chocolate brown so as not to be accused of racism. LOL

Now I'm mad. I eat Double Stuff Oreos and I am not fat. So, guess I'll change brands to Famous Amos but will miss the extra filling.
They are discriminating against thin peoples' right to eat what they want. If I were thin, gay and black, I'd say that this needs to go all the way up to that dandy Supreme Court. Cookies are about their speed these days since most of the USSC has dementia.
