Sick and tired of all the lies and distortions that the anti-gun liberal media continues to parrot day in and day out? Want the real facts and statistics to refute all of the ridiculous claims of the gun-grabbers? Well look no further.

Gun Facts version 3.3 is now ready and available for download. Guy Smith, firearms-rights activist and researcher extraordinaire has just revised his 70-page reference guide to include more data on "assault weapons", as well as few other hot topics. He has also corrected/expanded a few cites.

I've just finished reading the Second Ammendment Primer that I bought from the NRA. It gives a great historical perspective to our rights, going back to biblical times.

It makes the point that it is a collective right and an individual right. That the militia is all the people that can rise up to fight a standing army or 'select' militia. And also an indvidual right for defense of home or community.

I've never seen the fact sheet before. That's some good reading. I noticed one thing that I would change about it.

Even the most expert long distance shooters cannot hit a stationary target under perfect, windless weather conditions at such distances (with one notable exception in Vietnam43). An ill trained terrorist shooting a high-recoil .50 caliber rifle at a fast moving target – such as a 600 mph airplane – has no chance.

My critique This is a response to downing airliners. Well, airliners don't travel at 600mph when they are flying at only 5,000 feet.

The point is well taken, but I'd correct the itty bitty parts of this argument for legitimacy's sake.

Think about it:

1- Gun banning liberals want to disarm as many people as possible.
2- As you pointed out, criminals won't disarm and can't be forced to.
3- Criminals also want us disarmed. Guns are a hazard to their profession.
4- The government (individuals aside) also wants us disarmed. We are supposed to be dependent.
