WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush, trying again to explain the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, said on Saturday that suspected arms sites had been looted in the waning days of Saddam Hussein's rule.

"For more than a decade, Saddam Hussein went to great lengths to hide his weapons from the world. And in the regime's final days, documents and suspected weapons sites were looted and burned," Bush said in his weekly radio address.

KATHUNK!!!

In a related development, Randall Mikkelsen, author of this Reuters report, was injured as he fell from his chair due to his slanting this article so far to the left. Although he is expected to recover, physically; physicians would make no predictions on his mental condition.

Ever think about how an American president has lied to the American people? I guess you are stuck with your (O) getting your backside reamed out.... and enjoying it because the government said it feels good.

Bush has been widely criticized for misleading the public by asserting that Saddam had stockpiles of unconventional weapons that menaced the world.

It reads like a statement of fact, which it is not.

Bush has been widely criticized for misleading the public by asserting that Saddam had stockpiles of unconventional weapons that menaced the world.

If Bush mislead the public then so did Clinton and Gore, numerous Democrats, the United Nations security council, UN inspectors, and intelligence agencies of the UK, Germany and many other nations, and Iraqi defectors ALL of whom claimed Saddam has WMDs that were a threat to the his neigbors and the world.

This focusing only on Bush is disingenious and phoney...and mostly a tactic of hypocritical Bush haters who would bash him no matter what he did.

True, but Bush needs to stop talking about this issue. Let the Dems and the media appear to harp on it. Talk about the successes in Iraq, stop talking about WMDs, it just fuels the attacks from the media and the Dems. Already, the Fox poll today shows the % of people who think the Iraq war was "worth it" drop from 63 to 54%. Lets move on.

Saddam is defeated, his empire scattered, and the powers of the middle east have seen the strongest Arab military crushed like a egg under the wheel of a semi. The full effect may not be apparent, but a major shift has taken place, and the world is a better place for it. Iran and Syria are now surrouned, and our will to strike when we percieve a threat has been established.

Yep, it feels good.

Where are the WMD? BTW, America under Reagan gave Hussein WMD during the 1980's .... but you don't care because the American government is excusable.

As I said when Bill Clinton was elected the first time.

"Only the President (whoever he is) knows the real secret
history of the United States.
ONly HE is privy to the secret diplomacy of past Presidents."

We think we know a lot, and we get dribs and drabs as time goes on but we never know all of it. Some we will NEVER know.

Bad Bush. Winning the war was not enough - now he was supposed to have done it with style points. Gotta love the left - there is no situation they can't spin into heads we win, tails we win.

Question should be,

Where did the WMD go?

or who did Saddam give them to?

There is a certain threshold in every society that a government can break and still retain the People's confidence. When a government goes beyond that threshold, that is, when the People start to criticize the government's actions, there are two ways to deal with the new issue about lack of confidence: bribe the People back to confidence (tax breaks) or crush the People in the street.

In either case, it is a sham about truth; in our free society here in America, truth is the beacon of our republic.

Where are the WMD?

I have no idea.

However, anyone concluding that Bush "misled the public" simply because to date, we have not yet been able to uncover them is being disingenuous and acting from a position that reeks of an agenda that is nothing but political.

Any number of scenarios are plausible as to why they have yet to be found, the least of which being that it was an intentional act at deception perpetrated by the Bush Administration.
