WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush, trying again to explain the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, said on Saturday that suspected arms sites had been looted in the waning days of Saddam Hussein's rule.
"For more than a decade, Saddam Hussein went to great lengths to hide his weapons from the world. And in the regime's final days, documents and suspected weapons sites were looted and burned," Bush said in his weekly radio address.

You mean that you agree with government to kill innocent folks around the world just to satisfy your government benefits? Are you for real?I agree we have a right to defend ourselves.

yeah. i am tired of this american government perpetually and continuously lieing to me. bush lied (again) today.

Good commentary. It may just go down that way. To say that these foreign governments are 'sometimes brutal' and 'less than perfect' is quite an understatement, however. We've been sitting for twenty five years watching acts of violence against us in the middle east, and now on our home soil. The Sleeping Giant has again been awakened.

But when a government lies to you using our personal resources to create points that have no basis in reality, don't you believe we have a right to defend ourselves against the same government?
To: arete
Why of course it happened. What does that have to do with our claim that Iraq still had an active production program and stores of WMD that PRESENTLY posed a threat to his neighbors and us? Good history but what does it have to do with our reason to invade and make war?An insane killer lives next door to you. It has been reported that he is taking shooting lessons and purchasing guns both of which are parole violations and he refuses to let anyone in to search his home.
Do you
A) Ignore him until he attempts to kill you childen or B)arrest him ?

Hey, it's your false argument and distraction from the point of not having to deal with the original subject. I want a responsibe representative government that is accountable for its actions. Your "dictatorship" ploy is juvenile. No, I don't take the party line or accept what the propagandists are pushing without asking uncomfortable questions. That is what democracy and citizenship is all about. They are accountable, reprs every 2 years, pres every 4 years and senators every 6 years. These same accountable folks gave Bush the green light. If a group of duly elected reps decided something using our from of gov't then you must have an issue with our form of gov't. I can only assume a dictatorship with you and Buck at the helm would meet your expectations as to how the US should act.

"i am tired of this american government perpetually and continuously lieing to me. bush lied (again) today." That's funny, coming from someone who has proven his own lying ways on this very thread.
If you don't like the government "lying to YOU" (because it's ALL ABOUT YOU, right?) there is a simple solution. Find a country in which the government is as truthful as you like, and go there to live in the light of truth.
That is, if they don't toss your lying a$$ out on general principle.

I don't see how my thinking the administration overplayed the WMD issue is giving up persoanal dignity.
I don't agree with a everything the government does but any threat to our Country needs to be taken out, IMHO Iraq was a threat and so is any other Country that supports terrorists. I just wish we'd quit playing "nice" and finish this so my kids don't have to deal with it 10 years from now.

But when a government lies to you using our personal resources to create points that have no basis in reality, don't you believe we have a right to defend ourselves against the same government? Go ahead, Buck. Defend yourself. Wave your arms or your guns in the air if it will make you feel better.
Or sober you up.
To: Buckeroo
But when a government lies to you using our personal resources to create points that have no basis in reality, don't you believe we have a right to defend ourselves against the same government?First, its your opinion they lied. Second, I prefer we use the voting channels to change gov't and/or impeachment avenues. I dont' think armed overthrow is the answer.
Assuming we stick with a representative governement then its obvious that the American people are ready and willing to ratify Bush's actions whether there were WMD or not.
If you don't like how our system works then perhaps you might argue for a dictator that can keep everyone in line like you see fit ?

Just remember, you're talking about PERSONAL DIGNITY, with a guy who drunkenly whines, lies, and screeches about tons of imagined slights against him.
In other words, you are the wrong one in that conversation to be defending yourself.

your stand on this matter means you approve of Saddam and the childrens prison and the killing that Saddam did to his people.
Correct me if I am wrong but
That is the bottomline. On this issue.
But remember Bush has stopped all that you must approve of because he took Saddam down.

It's actually sort of funny, if you knew how much I bitch about our what and how our government does things.
The war on Iraq I back all the way. My only beef is that we're fighting it with gloves on so we don't offend anyone too much. I'm for pulling a Germany/Japan on the whole region.

Why do I get the feeling you're the type who would have given Hans and the UN until the next Millenium to uncover Saddam's WMD but our governemnt had to find them yesterday? Because most of those bashing Bush on WMDs are hypocrites and phonies.
Bush should feel fortunate to have such pathetic opponents whose flimsy arguments are so easily dismantled.

Would it have been a rush to war if we bombed Tokyo on December 6,1941 because we had evidence of their attack plans against us?
Saddam Hussein is a War criminal. Is it reasonable to expect that our Government is going to publicly offer up evidence even as we are still engaged in conflict? I do not think so.
