( I read this book a few years ago, some real interesting points)

The Gold of Exodus - 03/03/98

Simon & Schuster are currently selling a new book, called 'The Gold of Exodus' for around $25.

Author Howard Blum claims the location of historic Mount Sinai is at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula located in Saudi Arabia. The local name for the mountain is Jabal Al Lawz.

10 years ago, researchers Larry Williams and Bob Cornuke decided to try to locate the 'real' Mount Sinai. They claim to have succeeded and to have verified several points of Biblical reference. They report finding the 'land bridge' that crosses the Red Sea, used by Moses and his people to escape the pursuing Egyptian hordes.

During the Exodus, Moses set up pillars and boundary stones which were found by explorers Cornuke and Williams. Even the alter Aaron used for the worship of the Golden Calf has been found, decorated with drawings of cows.

Cornuke and Williams were originally intending to locate the massive amounts of gold taken by the Israelites when they left Egypt. None of this gold was found, but they do believe to have confirmed the accuracy of the Biblical Book of Exodus.

Other disturbing findings reported in the book are that the Chinese and Saudi's have built a nuclear base in the Mount Sinai area, even providing evidence of involvement by the U.S. Air Force.

This spectacular book and story are currently being made into a movie along the lines of Indiana Jones. 'The Gold of Exodus' is available in most book outlets.

Prof Humphreys also offers other "naturalistic" explanations for wondrous events. For instance, he thinks that escalating natural disasters explain each of the 10 "plagues" that forced Pharaoh to let the Israelite slaves depart. The Nile "turned to blood" meant that toxic red algae killed fish, the dead fish forced frogs ashore, gnats and flies were drawn to the dead fish and frogs and the insects transmitted a virus that killed livestock.

Yep naturalistic...no need to spread lambs blood on the door posts Death took the first born only of those who did not... perfectly natural...just co-incidence? Bwahahahahahahaha The wisdom of the wise is foolishness to God

Mount Sinai...it's location has been known for quite some time. Check out the website and the evidence...then judge for yourself.

http://www.wyattmuseum.com

It's location in Saudi.

Notice the fence that the Saudis have erected around the entire mountain...you can also see the guard house. Amazing to see where fire burned the top.

Science also backs traditional beliefs that the Israelites' exodus from Egypt was led by Moses, roughly the way that the Bible tells it, according to Prof Colin Humphreys of Cambridge University.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! Was that Moses Malone?

This is simply nonsense.

There are born-again scientists who accept the Bible as revealed Truth but their beliefs are scarsely based on their science. There are a host of Doctors of Theology out of podunk Bible colleges traveling around the revival circuit. Most hard-nosed trained Egyptologists just try to avoid the issue since it is so loaded and can effect funding.

If the Exodus occurred the Egyptians of the period were unaware of it, despite that 2 1/2 million out of a population of 3 1/2 to 5 million left the country. There is not one reference to it anywhere in all the 500,000 papyri in museums or on stone. Scholars who do discuss it in detail think that the story is a folk memory rewriting the Hyksos episode (at least many do).

The Book of Exodus obviously underwent later editing

Ya think? Did the Parting of the Red Sea happen, or is it some kind of code?

His candidate: present-day Mount Bedr in north-western Saudi Arabia, since there were no ancient volcanoes in what was later named the Sinai Peninsula.

If the Muslims can claim Jerusalem and all of Israel by saying (with straight faces) that Mohammed "ascended to heaven on a winged horse above Al Quds [Jerusalem]" (note that this silliness is not mentioned at all in the Koran)....then surely the Jews can claim all of Saudi Arabia using this far more scientific method as their proof.

ISRAEL...ANNEX SAUDI ARABIA NOW!

How typical of jihadists in saudi to attempt to claim a mandate they have neither been given, nor taken responsibility for.

What's interesting here is that it sounds like the pillars were "set up" by a flick of Moses' hand, and the alter just appeared with the drawings. If those things were built AND found, then the Israelites must have been in that locale for years, not just passing through.

I read years ago that folks had already identified the actual site. It's not in the Sinai peninsula but in Saudi Arabia and access to it is controlled by the Saudi government.

The Book of Exodus obviously underwent later editing, he said, but the evidence strongly suggests witness material that might well come from Moses himself. The book is "amazingly accurate and coherent", he said.

No kidding. The same can be said for the rest of the Bible, both the OT and most of the NT (the book of Revelation being the odd ball)--especially when compared to any other "sacred books" of any other religion on the planet. What's even funnier than this guy's a priori reasoning that the Book of Exodus "obviously underwent later editing" is his apparent lack of curiosity about the reasons for his assuming so.
