Israeli army ordered to 'wipe out' Hamas

Israeli army radio reports the army has been ordered to 'completely wipe out' the Palestinian Islamic militant group Hamas, a day after a suicide bomber killed 16 people on a Jerusalem bus.
Israeli helicopters killed nine Palestinians in strikes on militants after the bombing, leaving the US-backed peace "roadmap" in tatters.
Israeli Internal Security Minister Tzachi Hanegbi says no Hamas leader is safe.
The army order, which directs the military to use "whatever means necessary," was issued following a meeting of Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz with the army's top command shortly after the attack.
It is directed not only at the infrastructure of the organisation, but at its leadership, with everyone, "from the lowliest member to Sheikh Ahmad Yassin," a Hamas founder and its spiritual guide, as a legitimate target.
The latest round of killings and retaliations began on Tuesday, when Israeli helicopter gunships fired missiles at the car of Hamas' political leader, Abdul Aziz Rantissi, in a failed bid to kill him.
Mr Rantissi, who was lightly wounded in that attack, promised bloody revenge, which led to the bombing in Jerusalem.
It was claimed by Hamas' armed wing, the Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades.
The Israeli Cabinet has met to consider how to respond to that attack, amid reports that ministers will again raise the question of expelling Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from the territories.

Get your head out of the sand Now that's funny, coming from a clueless ostrich indeed. Instead of wasting my time here, why don't you go shoot up a daycare center? No telling how many criminals you'll save us from.

Don't you know that we'll never be safe until we kill EVERY Muslim in the world? If you have any friends who are Muslim, you might as well just go ahead and take them out now. And their dogs and cats, just to be safe.

So you're saying I should pump four bullets into the head of three-year child so she won't grow up and shoot me?
LOL....I'd empty the whole magazine if I were you, kids are pretty tough.
Amazing how the prospect of coming face to face with the dangerous threat of three year old brings out the purely sadistic side of some.
A pretty twisted mindset IMO.

You have to realize the difference between just any child who can potentially grow up to be good or evil, and the potential of children who are raised on hate and seem rather indoctrinated at even an early age.
Don't you recall the child on Saudi TV spewing the anti-semitic rhetoric about monkeys and pigs? Does that mean a child can't be taught something new? No, but are YOU going to forcibly remove the child from not just her parents but an entire army of terrorists?
what's that you say, no? Then guess what? She suffers as her parents suffer.
This is war, and just because you may not wish to see "innocents" suffer, doesn't mean they don't. You think the atomic bomb was a good idea? If you do, you're a hypocrite.
But if you realize that sometimes war dictates you do things to preserve your nation or existence that would fill you with shame in any other circumstance, then your sentiments are but a necessary part of the debate.

"Hamas has a lot of tentacles. I wonder what will become of Hamas members in other countries?"
And the Israeli Army has a lot of testicles. I'm betting on them.

Look, I don't know many that are saying "just go out and kill" anyone.
But we are not on the front lines, the Homeland Dept's rhetoric not withstanding.
If a war for your VERY EXISTENCE was ongoing right in your homeland, what would you do?
If you continue to fret about collateral damage, then you sentence your civilization to extinction. There is a worldwide jihad against you, and that once Muslims reach a critical mass in a country they start to demand concessions, then they seek to impose shari'a on you. Does this mean ALL of them want this? Heck no.
But you can't go around making individual exceptions in every war, it's ridiculous.
What if Pakistan launched Nukes against India? Who would you pull for? Would you suggest India "restrain" itself?
It' sad, but children are innocent only for a time. They are part and parcel of the cultures in which they are raised, they are not somehow apart from it. If they were, there'd be far greater diversity of thought in certain regions of the world. If you can save them, go ahead.
But would you risk your countrymen's lives to take the child from his/her community, or would you just bomb a terrorist hideout? I'd bomb it, if the kid is alive afterwards shelter him and raise him.

Really? Fascinating! I'm glad we've established that I'm the one not thinking things through.

No. I'll be a few continents away. But I'm also not going to laugh and cheer as that same innocent child is blown to smithereens.

Are you off to the Gaza strip to act as a human shield? I'm sorry. This has what to do with the price of tea in China?
Tell you what. I'll make the plane reservations just as soon as you get back from the daycare massacre. Take plenty of pictures!

Oh, that's a completely different matter.
I don't laugh or cheer over the children being killed. But I'm not going to spend my nights weeping over them, as I might for a child dismembered and eaten in the Congo.
Humans are not limitless pools of emotion and empathy. It's unfortunate that these kids are born to such parents.

They had "Barney" like kid shows, where instead of singing "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family", they sang "I will die, I will never stop until I shed the blood of our enemies" for the big guy in the costume.
They are carefully taught.
