Can anyone spare a little oxygen? These people's 15 minutes has become an endless Hilleth/Billeth Faire that just won't stop playing.

I'm tempted to poke out my eyes and puncture my eardrums to escape these people. I've sadly ruled that option out because then I would be a democrat.

That's why any sane person will hope she remains for ever a distinguished Senator for New York.

Well, I personally think that the best outcome for the country would be for her to not run for re-election, run for President, and lose in the Democrat primaries. I'm sure she would lose a Presidential general election, but fear she has a lock on the senate seat for life. I can't imagine she will get away during a senate campaign without being pinned down one way or another on her plans for 2008.

I voted against her once, I sincerely hope she never gets her name on a general election ballot again. The only good thing about her running would be that it would energize Republicans against her like nothing else, before or since, with the possible exception of the 1980 race.

And her obvious intent to make it back to the White House in her own right has the potential to turn America's already fractious polity into something bordering on civil war.

There's those two words again.

If by some very possible fluke (economic meltdown, etc) Hellary was elected president, especially through skullduggery, there would be a civil war in this country.

Just imagine Hellary and Attorney General Schumer going after gun rights, and jailing pro-life activists etc.

A shooting war would break out.

There are no corners in the oval office inwhich to hide. Mz. Clinton has a long road to pave before she will ever be considered a viable presidential contender. If her January 20th ever comes to be, that will be the day America deserves what America gets.

I'm trying to come to terms with the inevitably of a Hillary Clinton presidency. I see nothing now that can stop it, short of an unforeseen miracle.

How can anyone look at her health care takeover scheme and not recognize this woman as a Fascist? In the truest sense of the word.

"This cultural divide still exists"

But Andy, like most, don't see it.

It is a divide of feeling and reason: some like Andy care about what is felt- Hillary's leak is of how she says she felt.
We care not about what she claims to have 'felt' but about what the record shows she did- which is entirely at odds with the feelings she claims.

The soap opera nature of public discourse feeds on articles like this, which is Hillary's plan.

Her proximity to liberal bigots like Sidney Blumenthal suggests that her political goal is not to unify the country but to punish and humiliate half of it. Her paranoia in this respect should bar her from much higher political office, especially since her return to the White House would open wounds that have only recently begun to heal.

I don't believe that Hillary will make it to the White House...but I do shudder when I think of either Clinton becoming the governor of NY or the mayor of NYC--Pataki and Bloomberg are looking pretty vulnerable about now...gotta hope that Rudi Guiliani rides in to the rescue and takes back Hillary's seat or becomes mayor again.

Yep, I'm afraid it's going to happen. We're going to have to endure an entire presidential campaign with Hillary's frozen smile and practiced lines plastered all over the place.

I sincerely hope Sullivan is wrong on this count. Hopefully she'll pass on the 2004 Presidential election and will lose her Senate seat in 2006. That would be the best of all worlds. Short of that, perhaps she'll develop an incurable disease....

Interesting Andrew thinks the 'leak' was a malinged intention vs others in Media hailing it as 'great PR' job. . .that great job of course, being 'suckering the public' to generate sales.

That said, the leak itself; this 'revelation!' has resulted in a nauseating amount of press. . .

. . .but I swear; I think. . .this is not a 'revelation'; not 'news' and that this penned version of Hilary's 'first realization' have already been disclosed. . .by Hillary; or by someone. . .in some format, a few years ago.

Ring a bell or just resonate with ANYone else out here???

The Clintons have a Faustian pact with the Devil as far as their marriage goes. The only thing that matters to them both is power.

I'll bet when the final judgement occurs for them, that it will be sheer lunacy watching them stutter and fumble their way to hell. Picture St.Peter and the Lord asking WJC & HRC all the questions about their inequities while on earth. God I'd love to be privy to this spectacle: WJC: Lord it depends on what the meaning of is is?

Both of these slimes will be violently cast down to the deepest bowels of Hades, no doubt! Imho.

I think he doesn't realize how many woman have lost all respect for her. Not just the conservative woman but those that identify themselves as independents and liberals.

She no longer has the possibility of staying with Bill and playing the victim. If she stays with him and runs for President most people in the back of their minds are thinking about 4-8 more years of Bill chasing interns around the White House. 4-8 more years of Hilary defending him or worse a divorce going on within the White House.

If she divorces him,we would be asked to accept a divorced and single woman. We would have 4-8 years of stories about her "homosexuality" or seeing her latest lover on her arm. I don't think that most of America wants that treat.

Consider the garbage that she carries with her starting with her college days.
1. The thesis
2. The hatred of police and military
3. The Arkansas education debacle.
4. The Health Care debacle
5. The lies
6. The temper
7. The husband
8. The liberalness.

Right now, with the situation in the middle east, the two things that a President of the United States could not be is a Liberal Woman or Jewish. Unless of course, you want 4-8 years of increased terrorism and decreased military.

"...at whatever cost to the country she aims one day to rule.

Interesting choice of words, Mr. Sullivan. She aims to RULE as a dictator, not LEAD as a president. And she's NOT a "distinguished" senator, by the way. pffft!

"Anyone who stays married to an infantile, drooling, serial groper deserves what she gets."

And what she deserves is the appellation "Doormat." Formerly "First Doormat" now "Senator Doormat" -- but a doormat nevertheless.
