Living in the Chicagoland area, I can only say that this whole "story", while extremely unimportant, and not newsworthy; is a whole lot more interesting than seeing the high school "hazing incident" story on our local news 200 times a day.

Must be a slow news month. I'm glad the local media is in touch with what is really important.

- I got out-voted for the Cy Young, it had to be racism.

- I didn't win the MVP - that was racism too (how else to explain that white Anglo guy, Rodriguez, winning the MVP).

I never knew American sportswriters had such a large KKK contingent; must be the influence of the extreme liberal newsrooms.

Sammy on the other hand always struck me as a great example of an immigrant to this country. Proud of where he came from, proud of being here, working hard to achieve, etc. He always seemed like a stand-up guy. Sammy knows he did wrong, and will accept his punishment like a man (although 8 days is a bit much).

I will be very surprised, and disappointed, if Sammy Sosa plays the race card like this ingrate Martinez.
