[history]
June 6 (Bloomberg) -- A U.S. Defense Department report in September 2002 found ``no reliable information'' proving that Iraq had chemical weapons, even as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was saying the country had amassed stockpiles of the banned arms.
The unreleased report said Iraq ``probably'' had stockpiles of banned chemicals, a more tentative conclusion than Rumsfeld was presenting in public remarks. Iraq has ``amassed large, clandestine stockpiles of chemical weapons, including VX, sarin and mustard gas,'' he told Congress on Sept. 19.

My, you're eager to believe the Left!
I not eager to believe anybody. Full, open and public investigations are the only means of keeping government within it's Constitutional limits. Honest government dies behind closed doors protected by dubious "national security" claims.
Let the sunshine in and deal with the consequences is my opinion on the matter. As our government is so fond of telling us on Patriot Act, TIA, and Homeland Security issues...if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear.

Aren't you the trust but verify guy? Cheney said that there "no doubt" that Iraq currently had WMD. Trying to redefine possibly outdated labs as actual weapons does not exactly meet this high standard you set for yourself. It is sort of like redefinining the meaning of "is."
To: Captain Kirk
Politicans typically lie and/or dissemble. Once upon a time, freepers would have understood this. Why should Dubya be any different? You think BUSH was lying? Have you been paying attention? Those WMD questions WILL be answered and I SINCERELY DOUBT it will end with the conclusion that "it was all a lie". That's ridiculous, I hope the DEMONRATS hang their hats on this one, they'll be SORRY in the end.

Question: Can anyone confirm if these are the same D.I.A"reliable sources", that saw the light at end of the tunnel in VietNam, in 1966-67-68-69-70-71-72-73-74-75.?

...And while I maintain we have already found what we were looking for, some, perhaps a lot, of it has made it into Syria and Iran--and from there who knows.
IMHO, Bush spitting the bit at Syria's doorstep was a sign that he had come to realize a lot of folks he had trusted were BS-ing him and he wasn't going to dance to their tune anymore.
Watching Powell's stock rise within the Admin, while the stock of the wonks at DOD plummets, shows who Bush has learned to trust.

And don't forget Chemical Ali. How does one get a name like that if not by working with chemicals? Ditto Dr. Germ.

Did you bother to read any of the links I posted? We've found plenty. If you've read it, and continue to spout this nonsense, I can only conclude that you have some other agenda that has nothing to do with finding WMDs--something a lot more in common with the agenda of the democRAT "party."

I said lie or disemble. I suspect he disembled e.g. trumped up dubious or outdated evidence (and engaged in much wishful thinking) once it was discovered that scaring with spectres of mushroom clouds over American cities was a more effective means to persuade people than actually emphasizing the most important reason for war: creating a counterweight to Saudi Arabia.
Dubya is, after all, the same guy who said he was for smaller government...yet the domestic side of government has grown very fast under his watch. Face it, he is not a god, he is a politician.
To: MizSterious
"plenty" I guess that Dubya is a total fool because all he can talk about is two measley labs. Perhaps he should hire you as an advisor since his own advisors don't seem to have your information.
To: snooker
Curious that the same people that voted to use force are now the ones yelling the loudest. Soem people get really pissed when they find out the have been manipulated and lied to. Others just eat it up. Which kind are you?
When we find the weapons I wonder what everyone will say then.
And if we don't, what will you say then? Remember the HUGE QUANTITIES we were led to believe Saddam had and was preparing to use against us? Well, he didn't use any of them even to save his own life and there's no evidence to date that he intended to (if you're gonna use a weapon, you don't hide it away where it cannot be accessed by anyone. that would be like puting your guns in a safe and throwing away the combination when you heard someone trying to break into your house). I''s real hard to hide that much stuff. Kinda, like, real real real hard to hide that much stuff. Real hard.

Ah, I see. You didn't bother to read any of the links I posted. If you had bothered to look at them, you'd know it's not "my" information, but information published in many venues. We've found a lot, including at least two rolling chem labs--hint: they can be moved to any place in the country, that's why they're on wheels.

Why are you pestering me about your links? You need to get this information to Dubya asap! Unlike you, he can only talk about these two labs. Perhaps he is victim of a vast conspiracy of which Bloomberg is, of course, a charter member.
To: Captain Kirk
Oh, I see. Don't bother you with the facts. Especially if they get in the way of your agenda.

I reserve the right to wrong about this, but weren't the labs in discussion supposed to be sterile? If they had not been used in years, something, even if not WMD, would be growing in them. The idea of the labs being so clean, that indicates to me that they had been scoured very well, and VERY RECENTLY. Months, a year on the outside.
