Who is going to succeed GW?

Posted on 05/29/2003 11:32:51 PM PDT by ampat

Right now, there isn't a Republican presidential candidate ready to run in 2008. We don't need anymore "its my turn" Bob Doles. O'Reilly thinks hillary is a shoe in because the Republicans don't have anyone who can beat her. Cheney needs a rest, John McCain was once a contender but he has been wishy washy lately. Anyone have any nominees?

Condi Rice "believes" in a "woman's right to choose" abortion!

She said "Regrettably". I think she could be persuaded to change her mind.

Powell may have his problems, but Hillary is certainly NOT to the right of him.

A good manager/leader like GWB knows that succession plans are critical. A clear successor will emerge in his second term.

I dont believe that is the case. I have read that she doesnt believe its the federal govt job to legislate it and to leave it to the states to decide.

Oh shoot, Condi Rice, of course

Against Hitlery, yes she might win, depending on who the third party candidate was.

I think Rudy would win hands down though, no matter who else runs. (he'd beat the pants suit off clinton)

* Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, if he's re-elected in 06'.

I see I am not the only one to notice a very impressive first six months.

Jeb Bush/Condi Rice ticket

Yep, I like that arrangement, BUT, only if Jeb earns it. What I mean is that he'd really have to want it and campaign hard for it - no cakewalk just 'cause of his older brother. FYI, I had heard rumours that Jeb was the original family pick to be groomed for politics. GW just (luckily) sort of stumbled into it at the right time.

Who is going to succeed GW?

Probably a Bush or a Clinton, since we're further narrowing the two-party system to a two-family system.

I like Santorum and think of everyone who's been discussed on this thread, he'd make the best president. I think he'd be a GREAT president. But I don't know if he's electible. He says what he thinks--IOW, he's not afraid to speak ethically. But he's been a lightening rod and has alienated a lot of people.

That's right....sacrifice character over party affiliation..

remember, Reagan was once a Democrat...

I'd vote Powell over Hillary in a heartbeat...and so might many black Americans...
