Good morning everyone. Thanks for all the pings RB. I've been reading and trying to catch up all morning :)
FOX interviewed a pathologist (?) this morning. He said that although bodies decompose in water, it is highly unlikely so many parts would be missing. He seems to be of the opinion that the body was dismembered before disposal. When asked about the cult theory, he said that it's possible (but not probable in this case), and in his experience, the obvious is most always the reasonable answer...as in the killer dismembering the body. He also said killers still try to dismember key body parts to try to hide anything that would aid in identification of the body. This is all my wording, not exact quotes.

He said that although bodies decompose in water, it is highly unlikely so many parts would be missing. I was thinking about that when on our news here last night it was reported that a body had washed up. They said it was the duck hunter who went missing in December 2002. They were able to identify the body by the tatoo.
So I was thinking how did he have so much flesh left on him when apparently Laci was almost completely skeleton. Then I realized the difference was she was under the water all those months and he would have been floating.
I still think it is possible if she was weighted down in all those areas (which would be over kill) when that big storm came up the wave action could have broke her loose from the weights in her weakest areas.

That is so true. We had a murder here where they cut off the hands of the man and then threw him in the river. They figured without the hands they couldn't get prints and ID him.
They were so wrong. He was ID and they were caught.
