A conservative Swede? I guess it could happen - she has been living in the States awhile.

Yup, that's what it looks like to me, too, but the TV put 5/5, and since I've never played, I have to defer to them. I make no warranties about the accuracy of my posts, explicit or implied. ;^)

Actually she could have 2-3 more birdies with some lucky putts.. Wasn't the long birdie putt from off the green on the par 3 lucky?

Calvin Peete was/is from Detroit.

What channel are you watching? I checked both ESPNs and it's not being broadcast in my area.

I really don't blame Annika - I blame the media - with their constant attempts to prove men and women are the same they turn things like this into a circus. Annika is doing what any competative person would want to do and that is challenge themselves. Yep. I am rooting for her, since I always pull for the underdog, unless they are playing "my" team.
However, I could do without all the politically correct BS that this has brought out.

I liked Calvin Peete. I was young at the time, but I thought it was pretty cool to see a black guy playing with the mostly white players, and doing well.

It sounds as if her putting was "on" today, she could be leading this thing. She seems to have no trouble getting in position to make birdies.
To: ewing
Actually she could have 2-3 more birdies with some lucky putts.. Easily. I think the first two were shaking off the nerves. The first birdie I think cleared all that away, and this last one was just a flub.
She coul've been a co-leader at -3, should be at -2, is still at -1, WITH NO BOGEYS, and only two bad shots... the tee shot on 15 and that putt on 16.

Better to be straight than long. So true. When I started playing a few years ago I told my best friend (who is a great golfer) that I just didn't want to screw up anyone else's game that I was playing with. His advice was don't worry about distance as much as simply keeping it on the course. Distance comes with experience and practice. He was right.

Think how lousy the bourbon is tasting to the good ol' boys
sitting in clubhouses around the country and how they're
getting ready to break out the good Scotch at CBS.

So they're saying she was actually on the fairway on 15? The announcers said she missed, and it sure looked like it to me.
To: Guillermo
What good is being able to hit it 275 off the tee, if you're in the stinking woods?
At least we get to see all the course(except the fairways). Anybody can play out of the short stuff, takes a man to navigate the timber.

Here is a quote from Cedric from another thread:
"Annika will not make the cut. In fact, I think she'll withdraw before Friday's round!"
