Well, I thought it should have been Clay. (And he's definitely showing more class than you bunch of sore losers!)

I'm KIDDING!! Eeeeeeek... don't kill me ...

Why does Rueben keep singing that same song he doesn't do well? I think Clay would love to have the title, but his career is probably better off. Record producers are racing to the phone to offer Clay much better deals than AI can. Strings. Clay has no strings now. Rueben will do remakes of old R&B tunes and make a good living. He'll be led wherever his "managers" tell him to go to make a buck. Clay is the winner in all respects.

This is the first time I've watched AI. I figured I'd tune in to see what the fuss was about. Glad I didn't waste any more time than 2 hours of this farce. It was nice to hear Clay though - I really like his voice and his style. I just hope he doesn't launch a fad in naming kids Clay. Our son is the only one in his school and we'd hate to have it get too trendy!

This was a FR dilema, pull for the black guy, or the possible gay guy :)

I love FR, but some of your "conspiracy theories" sound like southern-florida, whiney democrats.
They were both great, but Clay was annoying - deal with it.

Congratulations to Ruben. I am definitely a Clay fan, but I wish both of them the best.

I saw him say the same thing on Fox News Channel. I probably won't watch next year either. If it's not going to be a fair competition I'm not going to invest my time in another one.

Good night Howlin..everyone.

I'm going to go to bed. Tomorrow I'll wake up in better spirits, happy for Ruben and ready to buy Clay's album the minute it hits the stores.

It's not just me, is it? He's really quite dreadful.

It's not just you. Ruben is a one-trick pony and even that one trick is failing him tonight.

I'm coming to this thread late. And I haven't followed this programme all along in the States.

But I will say one thing! That lad Rueban can SING.

That Clay guy (actually, I was surprised he made it to the last two..I thought Josh Grayson was better).

But I knew from the start, when I first heard Rueban (is that how it's spelt?) sing, that he was a very vocally talented young man.

Good for him!
