My experience was somewhat similar. I had terrible pain for years, though we didn't know what it was. It got much better after I had my daughter, but eventually came back. When I had my son, 8 years later, the relief was very temporary. After a time it became worse than ever. I discussed it with several different doctors over the years, but no one seemed to take it very seriously. When I came down with my first ever bladder infection, I finally found a doctor who listened. He took my list of wide-ranging symptoms and determined quickly that it was endometriosis. We scheduled a laparoscopy, with the intent of seeing the problem up close and possibly removing some of the endometriosis. Well, when the doctor got in there, I was such a mess that, with my prior permission, he did the hysterectomy. I can't tell you how much better I feel. I am 41, so wasn't planning on anymore kids anyway and dealing with instant menopause was not a treat, but the lack of pain has been an absolute blessing.

As for my daughter, if she is dealing with the same problem, I hope we can treat her without having to resort to such drastic measures. With constant advancements, I'm sure we'll find a way, if it comes to that.

WOW! Great pics! Thanks, so much, for sharing. I hadn't seen any of this on TV. That's why Free Republic is better than watching news on TV. Thanks again!

They are supposedly the same age, both elected in 2000, both appointed by their supreme court, and both had fathers who were president. Alas, she will not run again.

So glad she is feeling better. What an experience for her to deal with all these tests at her age. But undoubtedly, ODC-daughter has inherited that "right stuff" quality your family has, to see her through this. Keep us posted.

She was very scared and upset at first. I don't think she thought we would take it seriously. When we piled her into the van and drove her to the ER she calmed right down and even was cracking jokes while we waited for the doctor, though it hurt her to laugh. She even let me baby her, which she usually HATES! I love her to pieces but, she is more like my sister (better known as Brat) than me. She has inherited the traditional family sister nickname (Brat) and wears it proudly. Of course, my sister and I are best friends NOW, but growing up.......

This problem seems to be more common that I had thought. It amazes me that it takes so long for doctor's to figure out what is wrong with us when it seems to be a pretty simple thing to diagnose. Glad you're better now!
