President Bush and First Lady Laura welcomed Philippines President Glora Macapagal-Arroyo and her husband, First Gentleman Jose Miguel T. Arroyo to the White House today for a rare but official state visit. The President and Arroyo held a joint press conference today and addressed the war on terror as well as the prospects for peace in the Middle East. This evening, the First Couple hosted a state dinner honoring the visiting President Arroyo. Also announced today, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer will be leaving his post later this year. We'll miss you, Ari! Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

ODC, you and your girl have my sympathies and prayers. I can't even imagine going through something like that at her age. I hope that everything is okay, and she is able to go on her trip.

I'm glad we have Ari until July, but he will surely be missed.
He did say that he wanted to do something more relaxing, like disarm live nuclear bombs. That made me laugh out loud. I sure needed THAT today.
Oh and here is my contribution to the Flight Suit Fan Club

I'm with you on the bow business. She has got to get rid of them. Someone mentioned that it looked like she had the top pinned so as not to be too revealing. LOL! It really does look like that a bit. She looked lovely in the afternoon at the outdoor ceremony. And the dress is fine, perhaps cut a bit looser and without the dang bow! At least it was the same color as the dress this time.
BTW, I'm lovin' W in the vest and boots. Way too cool.
