RICHMOND, Calif. Law enforcement agencies continued searching the San Francisco Bay Sunday because prosecutors are "desperate" to find more evidence in support of their theory that Scott Peterson (search) killed his wife Laci, a source close to the investigation has told Fox News.

Oh, well... okay.
Can we pillory him for some other reason, though?
To: Devil_Anse
How 'bout a bad hair day that lasted 20 years, or maybe that mustache?

Yes, and I guarantee the ratings would top O'Reilly's!

Yep. Laci Peterson and SARS obsession. And not one of us here have solved the murder or cured the disease. It's as bad as celebrity worship.

Folks we do not know what evidence the MPD has on Scott. The pundits are just speculating. Lets wait until the trial starts and then we will know. Since Garagos took the case he has been spinning the news towards Scott and the idea that the cops do not have enough evidence to convict. Time will tell. Be patient.

"Like it or not, I haven't heard of any direct evidence other than a hair on a pair of pliers"
. . .the Defense does not intend to reveal every aspect of their case; and circumstantial evidence against Scott is very 'high'. . .Scott's behavior alone, challenges 'reasonable doubt' at every turn.
The Media is creating a story to sell. . .it is disgusting; moreso to watch FoxNews become a particpant in this 'never ending story' unfolding. . .

"Guys kill their wives every friggin' day in this country, but I don't hear about it. I still haven't figured out why this guy killing his wife is supposed to be so important to me."
Well, with all due respect, Dead, the media doesn't care what is important to you...only what is important to THEM.
This is an issue about being "FIRST". The first to broadcast that Mr. Peterson "has confessed", or has been "found guilty".
It's the almighty "SCOOP" mentality in the press. Hundreds of news outlets all clammering to be the first to broadcast the hot news. When actually, none of us out here in listener/viewer land give a damn who was first, we want to know who was ACCURATE.
My experience in the media has shown that the media in an intermural game, and all they really care about is...each other. Who beats who, who gets the Pulitizer, etc. It's like the Academy Awards...a profession who takes up several hours of prime time each year to congratulate and thank each other.
It's been my experience that most of the movies that win all the awards, suck. They're like watching paint dry. But the movie industry - a mutual admiration society - feels they must do what they do.
I will paraphrase a Rush saying, and apply it to the media..."Follow the Pulitizer".

Drop Fox News a note telling them to stop Geraldo's spinning of the Laci Peterson case. I'm no fan of Whorealdo, but the plump blonde is different in what respects?
To: Juan Medén
Been there, done that. At least a hundred times. Haven't gotten one response yet. But, in honor of your passion, I'll try it again.
Nice catch, by the way. Not that I like anything he has to say or write . . . but it's best to keep him out front so we can keep an eye on him.

I am curious how such a horrendous murder could have been committed with no significant amounts of blood showing up Well, how would choking followed by 4 months in the bay grab you?

Does anyone else quickly skip over any post that has the word "dude" in it?
To: dead
Everytime somebody on Fox News starts talking about this case, I switch to other news. When the other channel starts talking about it, I switch again.

Same here. I have even reverted to A&E for fantasy. I will not watch a moment of the scabpicking that is the Laci Peterson story.

Geraldo and Geragos in bed together? YOU stop; that image is simply gross.
To: irish_links
I think it should be Jerry River--not Rivers. No big deal though. Methinks people are complaining a bit much about the guy. On the other hand, I just wish this whole Laci Peterson thing would go away.
To: iconoclast
No, but I quickly skip over pomposity and people who use 4 syllable words to convince others how clever and educated they wish to portray themselves.

Don't blame Geraldo for doing his jobHe's not doing his job; he's Mark Geragos' mouthpiece, sent out to muddy up the waters.

No 4 syllable words in my post, "dude".
To: Juan Medén
Why is it bad that he reports that way? You can believe what you want. Personally, I beleive S.P. over O.J.....since OJ had those 9-1-1 calls against him. Even Laci's mom said she never heard one cross word from Scott towards Laci.
Several of the women in my office have also said stuff like this, saying, "Oh, he is going to get off"...
With the Stanislaus D.A. telling the Newsday reporting "How about I send you on a trip to the moon" because he didn't like a question, I tend to agree.

Could be. You likely have some insight into it that I haven't seen. Remember though, Geraldo is far from the only reporter/analyst that has questioned the "slam-dunk" assertions of the prosecution. I'm no Geraldo enthusiast by any means, but I've just not heard anything from him on the Laci affair that I would condemn, at least for now.
