RICHMOND, Calif. Law enforcement agencies continued searching the San Francisco Bay Sunday because prosecutors are "desperate" to find more evidence in support of their theory that Scott Peterson (search) killed his wife Laci, a source close to the investigation has told Fox News.

Presumed Innocence? Not on Cable TV News. One does not have to listen too carefully to surmise where Geraldo Rivera, the Fox News Channel correspondent and anchor, stands on Scott Peterson's alleged role in the killing of his wife, Laci. "Fertilizer salesman Scott Peterson's alibi stunk as badly as the stuff he sells," Mr. Rivera told his viewers one recent night, also referring to Mr. Peterson as "the rat now caught in the trap."sw

My 2 cents on Geraldo:
On opinion matters I often disagree, but he was one of the few known liberals to strongly back the war and to put a real face to the good that we have done over there.
On matters of hard reporting and sourcing he is quite simply one of the best in the business. His sources tend to be deep and well informed. He may be somewhat sensational in his presentation, but his facts are (with few exceptions) rock-solid.
If you learn HOW to watch Geraldo, and if you care about the subject matter he is presenting, then there is much to be gained. It's more a matter of respect and observation than a matter of 'liking' him. But that's just my not-so-humble opinion.

Well the state isn't going to talk to him...
Geraldo does always state that he has been talking to the defense... So you have to judge for yourself from there...

They don't need Laci's blood or vomit on the mop... They have blue light technology that shows blood on walls even though its been cleaned up...

So does her family.

Actually Furhman also said the same thing as all the other policemen have - just because they are still out there is NOT AN INDICATION the police DON'T have any evidence. In fact, Mark was pointed in his statement that - YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE.
And ... Mark was the one who debunked the cult theory; plus Dr. Lee agreed - there was not enough blood found in the house to support a theory she was cut up.
However, I saw a case on Forensic Files (Court TV), where the guy put a relative in the bathtub where he drained her blood. This was only found because the police noticed a towel in the bathroom with a small smear of blood - which proved to be the victims.
I'm not saying Scott did that, but it does show that finding hardly any blood in the house doesn't mean she wasn't cut up by Scott. However, if she was wraped in a tarp and had blocks of cement tied to the tarp to keep her underwater, the weight of the cement could have caused the parts to break away - except, that really does not account for the hands and maybe the feet; at least not to me.

You haven't heard any direct evidence? Please, first of all, the trial hasn't started!!!!!!!!! Of course you haven't heard the evidence! YIKES!!!!
When a man changes his hair color, has a fake idea and is on the border, then his high profile slime attorney says a satanic cult did it, one should pause and think about things, but at least let the evidence be presented. The news media knows very little about the case the State has.

I think they should keep Geraldo, he does keep them fair and balancedYou must be high. FNC is about as "fair and balanced" as any other media outlet, that is "fairly biased". Geraldo is a sensationalist, not a journalist.

The same reason that the annual overloaded ferry story in the Philipenes and the annual flood deaths in Bangladesh are important to you. That's interesting, I can't remember being bludegeoned over the head for months about any flood in Bangladesh. Nice try tho.

I believe that the attention focused on this case is because Laci and Scott are two very attractive people. You forgot "white" and "middle class". News is marketing, people.

... he was one of the few known liberals to strongly back the war and to put a real face to the good that we have done over there. On that, I definitely agree with you. I did watch his war coverage quite a bit.
It's the other stories - like this Peterson case - where his sensationalism is too much for me to watch, so I turn the channel.
Regards.

I send FNC an email each time Geraldo "The Fake" is scheduled to appear. I let them know why I'm changing the channel. I no longer get a reply from them. I will thank "The Fake" for one thing, found out my cable now carries the DIY channel.

Oh please! I do know the purpose of a trial. The thread was aimed at shutting off discussion through the media, and especially that of Geraldo who was simply suggesting that this might not be the slam dunk the prosecution was already claiming!!!!
As I have already said, I think his actions after the murder suggest Scott as a suspect, but none of that is direct. And as has been pointed out by many in the media, if there is so much evidence (as I hope there is), then why are they spending so much effort out in the bay these days?
