I will not see this movie again! So let me get this straight: You saw a movie in the theaters 2 or 3 times and now you want to claim you are boycotting it?!!!?

I hope the dialog is better than the original.Come on, folks. This is Keanu Reeves we are talking about, here. You cannot expect any good dialogue in any Keanu Reeves movie, by definition.

Saw it after never seeing the first matrix. I thought it was decent entertainment although the plot was a little lame. The philosophy lessons seemed incomplete (causality, free will) but maybe I just didn't understand them.

I saw what I saw, and what I saw offended me.
I was planning to see this flick several times, which is the norm as I usually hook up friends/relatives throughout a particular movie's release cycle.
So maybe I won't be so jazzed about seeing it again. I went the first time for obvious reasons. I went the second time because my sister, like me, is a big fan. I also went this second time to confirm that I really did see what flashed by so quickly the first time.
If this rubs me the wrong way and curbs my personal enthusiasm so be it. I'll be running a one man boycott.
I am not going to spend my time trying to get others not to see the movie based on just this single issue. Folks have been asking me at work today what I thought of the movie and all I can say is "FA". I offer my opinions of what I liked about it and what I didn't like about it.
I am sure I will pony up another $7.50. Likely several more times. Heck, I'll probably buy the DVD when it comes out so I can slow-mo and freeze-frame the scene to see what else is there.
Someone in another thread mentioned the image of Prez Carter flashing by also. Hey, if it was an equal opportunity slam then perhaps I am over-reacting. Dang, now I have to go see it again.

It is still being edited, and there is time for re-shoots, if need be. My sense is that the next film will get some re-tooling based on the reactions they are getting. But like I said, this film has the potential to do a 150 million this weekend, and there is no arguing with success, especially here.
I very wise producer I worked with early on had a saying: "Don't sell out to the man, but don't sell out to the boy". Unfortunately for this film, the brothers sold out to the boy.

(Also, the paper reports this morning that it's showing in FRANCE, at Cannes. Boycott!) Actually, that reminds me. In "Matrix: Reloaded", there's a character you're fully intended to "love to hate". He's French! And part of the reason you're encouraged to hate him is because he's just so annoyingly elitist, condescending, and *French*. My friends and I couldn't remember the character's name, so when we were discussing the movie afterwards we just called him the "obnoxious French bastard".

I see many people here have already echoed some of the sentiments about the fight scenes and dialog being boring. Keep in mind too, you're dealing with human nature. Anytime there's something a lot of people are excited about or are happy to see there will be other people who will... Well, let's just say you have a lot of what I call the "Scrooge Effect" when it comes to films like the Matrix, Harry Potter, LOTR etc.

(Also, the paper reports this morning that it's showing in FRANCE, at Cannes. Boycott!) LOL! Thanks. You gave me a "Spit my coffee out" moment! Good one.

Warning! Spoiler/Criticism follows! There was nothing similar to a "I am your father" 'moment' in RELOADED
Um, hello? That Neo was basically set up and created by the machines. That the oracle was working for the machines. That Neo was the 6th/7th? "One". That Agent Smith will play a major role in the saving or destruction of Zion. That Neo has either, supernatural powers in real life and/or can control machines in real life........ Seemed pretty damn "revelatory" to me....

The fight scenes for me were quite entertaining. Something that I well enjoyed in these movies is their credibility with martial arts and computers. They brought in a lot of experts.

Note the 6th iteration (after the first failed) -- that is, the 7th iteration (or 7th "day" to create...). Pull back a step from that, and you'll see that the relationship between man and machine is caught in an endless loop - a system anomally.

Well, rats.. It's the same type of scenario in lethal weapon..I think #2 in which there is a big NRA poster (in the police station no doubt) with a red circle and a red line drawn through the letters. Boy, they sure make us want to spend money on their crappola doesn't it!

Just saw it tonight and went in with no expectations. What a great flick! I read on another thread not to pay attention to reviewers that have only seen this movie once and pretend to be experts. You really have to pay attention, just like the first one.
I am looking forward to seeing it again just as soon as it sinks in a little more.
