House Won't Act on Assault Weapons Ban
The Republican-controlled House will not renew the federal ban on Uzis and other semiautomatic weapons, a key leader said yesterday, dealing a significant blow to the campaign to clamp down on gun sales nationwide.
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) said most House members are willing to let the ban expire next year. "The votes in the House are not there" to continue the ban, he told reporters.
His spokesman, Stuart Roy, said, "We have no intention of bringing it up" for a vote.

I've already begun writing to several Congressmen from our area that I have supported in the past to let them know my continued support depends on their protecting the Second Amendment by letting this ban expire.
I suggest we all consider writing our representatives in order to buck them up and express our appreciation.

Aren't they 25-50K? Well, you know, the price always comes down with mass production.

Many rural and southern Democrats, including a few who voted for the ban in 1994, oppose its renewal and reflect a notable shift in the politics of guns over the past decade. An aide to a Senate Democrat who voted for the ban in 1994 and faces reelection next year said many Democrats "hope it never comes up." Well that is good news

Awww if it looks like it ain't going the socialist's way they will all just run away to Oklahoma till they get what they want. (hopefully they'll be hiding there for a long time :o)
As to that little bushmaster I actually carried a prototype in .221 fireball when I was in Thailand. Great little bullet hose.
Stay Safe !

I suggest we all consider writing our representatives in order to buck them up and express our appreciation. Yes that is important, unless your rep is like mine, el supremo don Raoul Grijalva de Me.Ch.A Azatlan, commie, gun grabber, then we have to voice our displeasure to him.

Hey, write your gun-grabber and tell him you are heartened by the news that his colleagues care about the Second Amendment. Stick it to 'em.
To: Squantos
LOL....we had an Armspistol as a boat gun....shame I never realized what a little treasure it was then.
They are way pricey now..if they can be found....I saw where some east bloc bizmen made some copies.
The .221 Fireball is only made for the Remington XP-100 space gun now isn't it?

Hmmmm, maybe now I can get a couple of things. 1) A brand new Colt ar15 with real telescoping stock, and 16 inch barrel w/o the inflated pre-ban price. 2) A BRAND NEW authentic HK 91 with a humongosized box mag...in the box. Yikes! I hope the bill is DOA.
To: wardaddy
Dunno....last one I saw was in a museam in Aberdeen Proving Grounds MD. I have seen the caliber in some bolt guns but yer correct as to the XP100 being the most popular use of the .221 Fireball as far as I remember.
I'm working on a NFA purchase of a Swedish K that a friend owns (NIB). He knows what he's got and how bad I want to buy it so I don't think were gonna agree on the price of the little 9mm. Sweet little toy for wasting 9MM on the range.
What are you doing up ?
