A statewide survey of 500 registered, likely voters conducted on May 6-7, 2003 shows that President Bush would defeat Joe Lieberman, John Kerry or Richard Gephardt if the Presidential election were being held today. The margin or error for a survey of 500 likely voters is +/- 4.36%.

I think Mondale did win Minniesota, but just barely.

Mondale narrowly won Minnesota because President Reagan did not campaign there. He did not want to humiliate Mondale by beating him even in his own state when he was winning in a landslide anyway.

Does anybody think this big surge for Bush in NJ has anything to do with the Lautenberg mess ...??

I don't think so. If my fellow Jerseyites were upset with the illegal replacement of Torricelli by Lautenberg, they could have expressed their anger by voting for Forrester. And it's not as if Lautenberg has done anything in particular to upset anyone since he became a senator again. I have hardly even heard his name mentioned. Is he, in fact, still alive?

The Rats will say, "Bush is barely above 50% as a popular sitting incumbent".

Ha. They are whistling past the graveyard, and that's if they can avoid cotton mouth because this ought to scare the holy crap out of them. If a Rat can't poll even in N.J. they have no chance (assuming this holds through next summer).
