Author says JFK had affair with 19-year-old intern
Claim comes from ex-White House aide
NEW YORK (AP) -- President John F. Kennedy had an affair with a 19-year-old intern who traveled with him on official trips, according to a new biography of Kennedy.
"She had no skills. She could answer the phone," Robert Dallek, author of "An Unfinished Life," told "Dateline NBC" in an interview that aired Sunday. "Apparently, her only skill was to provide sexual release for JFK on those trips and maybe in the White House."
Dallek learned of the affair from a White House aide, Barbara Gamarekian, whose oral history was recently unsealed.
Gamarekian told the Daily News that she remembers only the young intern's first name, which she refused to reveal.
"It amazes me there continues to be such fascination with all things Kennedy," Gamarekian, 77, told the newspaper.
Kennedy is known to have had numerous extramarital liaisons, but this is the first report of an affair with an intern.
"There were lots of women," Dallek, whose book comes out Tuesday, told the newspaper. "The real question is: Did it distract him from his job as president? I think it really didn't."
Gamarekian had asked that the 17 pages in her oral history dealing with the intern be kept secret for a decade, then later asked the Kennedy Library in Boston, where her account is archived, to keep it sealed.
Dallek discovered the blacked-out pages while researching his book and persuaded her to disclose the information.

Maybe big Ted should "weigh" in on this...

"The real question is: Did it distract him from his job as president? I think it really didn't." What an incredibly moronic thing to say. It is just like a leftist to twist themselves in knots defending their beloved Kennedy.
Are we to believe that Kennedy could spend enormous amounts of time and effort procuring random women for sex, yet was able to keep his mind totally on his work? Are we to believe that this is acceptable behavior for a President anywhere, at any time?

My bet...if you track her down...is that you find she is actually married to a senator or congressman today. 40 years have passed by and she would be in her late 60s now. Other than a handful of juicy sex stories...theres not much to get out of the deal. Lets face...if you line up the last 20 presidents...at least half of them had affairs.

I know the daughter of one of Kennedy's cabinet secretaries (and knew her father as well). From what she told me many years ago, Kennedy expected any girl he met to sleep with him, he pursued fresh prey every day, and he didn't much care who they were or how old they were.

Good point. So the Clintonistas have taken to besmerching their hero (JFK) in order to make Clinton look "not so bad."

EVERY media type covering Kennedy knew of his reckless sexual appetites and covered for him.
My guess is that all the lefties covering X42 knew very well that he was emulating Kennedy is every way possible.

Having a nineteen year old girlfriend is one thing. Signing the violence against women act into law with a provision that allows courts to ask all men who are a defendant in a sexual harrassment lawsuit about their past affairs and then perjuring one's self when the law you yourself signed comes back to bite you is another. Private affair? Not when a bill you signed into law makes it public. It's called having no honor whatsoever.

Half the presidents didn't have affairs they adulterated their relationship with a woman to whom they had promised to be faithful until their deaths. Adultery is not an "affair". It is this kind of renaming adulteration that distracts us from the truth of what Kennedy and other Presidents did. They made a vow. They not only broke A vow, but a sacred vow - an oath. They not only broke such a vow but adulerated a one-to-one relationship with a woman and brought into that relationship a DEEP lie OR if the spouse they broke the oath to didn't care then they were entered into a covenant of adulteration. This deep heart lying and adulteration of a relationship is NOT to be regarded as isolated to that one relationship. Adulteration spreads to all relationships including the one made to anonymous Americans when the President took his oath of office to them. If you will break your oath to one very special person to whom you have promised to be faithful until your death, why wouldn't you be willing to break your promise to anonymous people you don't even know?

The worms continue to eat. I don't believe 1/10 of these lewd Kennedy stories.
Either the guy had Addison's Disease and was debilitated from his teen-aged years, or he wasn't. NBC wants it both ways.
Addison's Disease results in impotence, but you never hear that regarding JFK.
"Just tell them what you want them to see."
They should give it a rest. They won. The coffins are nailed shut and/or submerged deep in ocean waters. The only one left is Caroline, the pro-abortion, pro-homosexual liberal who has three kids to protect.
JFK was more conservative than half the Republicans today. But he crossed those who could and did blow his brains out for all of us to see and take heed.

Who cares?
It still doesn't make him a good President.
It still doesn't make Bill a good President.
