When the tornado hits a power line cusing a large blue flash when the line is broken, you can see them for miles.

power lines/transformers "flashing" because of tornado toppling them....tornado indicator at night.

Turner Turnpike -- they are warning anyone near Stroud to turn around and get out of there. Looks to be heading up I-44.

tornado snapping power lines causes major arcs and power flashes. That is one of the first signs of a tornado on the ground.

CNN covering tornado.....saying it's large, saying also massive power flashes......
To: Magnolia
The tornadoes look to be in Northern OKC and County. Power flashes on both sides of I-44 near Acradia. Now at I-35 and I-44!

Does anyone have any amateur radio frequencies where they have emergency nets in the affected area? Any 75 or 40 meter frequencies? I'm too far away to hear vhf.

What is a power flash?Transformer explosion.
I'm watching on CNN - this looks to be running through the city of Oklahoma City proper. KOCO-TV reports that the storm passed over their location.

There is more than one on the ground too! Very large tornado and we can see the power flashes from the stormchasers. 1 1/2 miles east of I-35 near the turnpike.

Sounds like it's traveling along turnpike NE of I-44.
