Posted on 05/06/2003 7:52:11 PM PDT by rintense

President Bush began the day by speaking at the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washingtion about the economy and his proposed stimulus package. Bush then met with Jerry Bremer, who he appointed presidential envoy to Iraq. Later in the day, the President welcomed Prime Minister Goh of Singapore and signed a free-trade pact between the United States and Singapore. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I have just about come to the conclusion that Dubya doesn't have a bad camera side.

More great pix. Thanks, Rintense!

I was privileged to be able to attend the Americans for Jobs & Growth Tax Rally today at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. President Bush looked great and was well received by an enthusiastic crowd. I'll be posting a report tomorrow since it's been a long day.

I had hoped that the rally and speech would be shown live since C-Span, Fox and several other network TV crews were set up. C-Span has a video clip of the entire speech by President Bush, but they do not have a schedule posted to show when, or if, it will be broadcast. I don't know how to link the video from C-Span to this thread, but anyone who wants to hear the speech and crowd reaction can check it out at www.c-span.org.

I was five rows back from the rope line and slightly to the right of the podium and had a wonderful view of President Bush. Thank you, Nick Danger.

I'm doing just fine, bentfeather......thanks for asking!

We found out some information about Eric tonight, but want to make sure his siblings know about it before I announce it in general.

It's not a bad thing, but I wouldn't mind a few extra prayers for him!

Don't you just love that picture? .... :-)

So glad that you two had a great time together, OWF and Deb!

OK .... I have a story to tell. We got a very cryptic email today from hubby's sister. We didn't know about it but apparently one of her sons (hubby's nephew) and his wife were in DC last weekend ......

..... and they got to shake the President's hand!!!!!

I don't know any details but I'm assuming that they were at the White House when he arrived back there on Marine 1.

The rest of the story .... nephew's wife is a very pretty brunette. As they were shaking the President's hand, Mark told the President that many people said that his wife reminds them of Laura. So President Bush stepped back, gave Mary a good look, and then said "Well, you do."

I am just dying to know the whole story. We don't have a lot of contact with this nephew and his family ...... but that may change .... starting IMMEDIATELY!
