O'Reilly Seeks to Destroy Georgia Republican Governor

Posted on 05/06/2003 5:58:32 PM PDT by faithincowboys

Tonight, Bill has continued his jihad against Georgia Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. O'Reilly, who recently made what many considered an anti-black remark, has launched a full frontal assault on Perdue.

Inexplicably, Bill O blames the GOP Gov for an all-white private prom that recently occured in Baldwin County Georgia. Of course, if the Governor could prevent the white kids from having a private prom, we would be living in a totalitarian state.

Bill is clearly seeking to destroy Perdue to deflect from his racially insensitive faux pas.

Perdue's Black Female Press Secretary was on The Factor tonight and Bill was rude and hostile to her, it kinda made you think that if Bill were throwing a private party at his big Long Island digs (why doesn't he live closer to work in a more diverse area?) he wouldn't invite her unless she agreed to hold a serving tray all night.

Georgia is all ready in a state of racial tension, due to the flag issue, Bill's attempt to destroy Georgia's first Republican Governor since Reconstruction is, without a doubt, an assault on the GOP.

We should all let O'Reilly know how we feel about this. Also, when O'Reilly's young daughter becomes school age, we must demand that he sends her to a school in Harlem. The white kids who went to that prom attend a 55% African American majority high school and live more racially integrated lives than O'Reilly and his wealthy Long Island elitists ever have.

Were the kids morally wrong to exclude their balck peers from their private prom? Yes. Were they legally wrong? No. Does Sonny Perdue bear any culpability in the matter? Absolutely Not!

O'Reilly is now demanding that Perdue hold a press conference, go on The Factor, and/or go to this week's integrated prom.

I find O'Reilly's stance on this untenable and grotesque. Hobbling a Republican Governor (unfairly) driving up anti-Republican sentiment in the South (a region integral to Dubya's re-election) and galvanizing Southern Democrats is a clear sign that Bill is not on our team.

Maybe he's not on the D team either, perhaps, he is on his own team-- in a very Clintonian way. His jihad against Georgia's Governor is to appease the NYC, DC chattering class who think he is a racist and suspect his Jesse Jackson fixation is rooted in racism.

In a suck up to his critics, Bill O has thrown an innocent man to the wolves. This is outrageous!

and persecuting 18 years olds that

I went to a private school in Old Westbury. There was ONE black student there. However, he was the life of the party, got along with everyone. That's because everyone had the same cultural background, rich parents, broad exposure to a lot of education, etc. I left there because I was a really square peg.

I was thrilled when O'Reilly's TV show deservedly did well
at the beginning---lately his moral outrage/self-righteousness has become VERY tiresome and stupid-sounding.
He is certainly no intellect, either.

Where do you live? How integrated is your life? I want the "outraged" to show if they walk the talk.

By the way, there is an integrated prom this week. Also, the kids have all year and after the school day to date whomever they want.

BTW, I think the kids will be ashamed later, I think they hurt their black peers, but I'm not ready yet to send them to Guantanamo Bay.

Oh dear, we agree again, you liberal you. That is my opinion of O'Reilly, that has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Bill O'Reilly lives in Plandome, NY, one of the most wealthy and exclusive communities in the nation (and whitest, not that it matters). I have eaten breakfast at the same diner that he occasionally does, and he makes a big show of himself every time...his ego is insatiable.

Let's see. The week before last it was Santorum. Last week it was Bennett. Here Purdue. Elswhere, the YWCA. Watch it happen. As the Infantry says: "Incoming!" We're under attack. As you put it:

Is there a link to the accurate story about this "prom?"

I doubt it. There's a pattern here.

Let's not get carried away here. O'Reilly can hardly "hobble" a governor. Even with his cable-tops ratings, his show is watched by a tiny portion of the American viewing public, compared to even the most lackluster network sitcom.

Well, now the Atlanta Journal and Constitution is talking about O'Reilly blasting Perdue-- somebody posted the article on here already. He has made the issue bigger than it was and has uneccesarily personalized it. He is such a
witch-hunter-- a breed he bashes a lot, but mimics constantly.

I live in Hempstead which is mostly black and hispanic, but more white people are coming back now that the 'dregs' are disappearing. My father is a full blooded Italian and my mother is from the British West Indies (black, spanish, french, dutch, etc.) who were together for almost forty years till he died. I was raised under the watchful tutelage of my dad who was a carbon copy of Archie Bunker in home where words like 'negro and colored' were common language. Why? My dad was old, and my mother was from a english colony and that's what they said. That's the level of integration in my life. I do think people ought not to play the hypocrite when discussing these issues so I don't mind the question at all. O'reilly is not on my 'watch list'. If I watch tv at all, it's to watch Hannity and Colmes. I also think the students will regret it. You are right on that point. I said in another thread they should be left alone. I said no one should go to their prom. I am sure this is going to fall out of the news pretty soon like every other news issue.

During the 1990's a liberal church in my area hosted proms for gay teens. The local media praised the church for showing compassion and tolerance for young homosexuals. Apparently, freedom of association is prohibited for white straight christians.

Yep something like that. He is grandstanding big time just to get attention. I think his outrage on this is fake. I mean come on...one dinky high school in a big state has a private all white prom and the Governor is supposed to do what? It would be more effective if some of the ministers in town got together and preached about this being a sin against charity. Why did'nt Bill think of that when he was casting around for someone to scold?

You should listen to Matt Drudge deconstruct O'Reilly every Sunday! It's a hoot hearing him brag about the 'radio factor' then Drudge reading the real ratings.

" Blacks have seperated themselves from society in a number of ways."

I was listening to O'Reilly's radio show today. He had a man call in regarding all-black groups and events. One of the organizations this guy spoke about was the Congressional Black Caucus. O'Reilly poo-pooed the guy's point about blacks having all-black colleges, sororities, fraternities, beauty pageants, etc., In regards to the Congressional Black Caucus, Bill said that he could understand a Black Caucus since they were organized to make the needs of the black community known. Of course I began screaming at the radio saying: "Isn't that what a representative is supposed to do anyway? Why do they need a special group to do that? Why isn't there a White Congressional Caucus to represent the needs of the white community?"

O'Reilly has been utterly rabid on this prom issue. I believe he's totally wrong. If a group of people want to have a freakin' party and pay for that party themselves, they can invite whoever the hell they want! The party wasn't sanctioned or supported by the school, and the last time I knew, this was supposed to be a free country. O'Reilly seems to be more concerned that the school principal and the Governor weren't out there making scathing remarks about these kids and their prom. Like someone else said on this thread, it isn't any of their business. No government money was spent on this prom, it isn't being held in a governmental building, and no government agency is sanctioning it. So what the hell is Bill's big problem?

Well, you definitely have lived an integrated life and no doubt are uniquely bothered and hurt by this. But do you think the Governor of a state in which such a private event happens should have to stand before a firing squad for it?
O'Reilly is a moron. I think the kids that attended the all-white prom are singularly responsible for it, to go on a political witch-hunt is wrong!

"BTW, I do agree with the notion that Perdue woiould be well served to issue a statement condemning racially divisive practices of any nature"

Sorry...... I'm just one of those old left over "angry white males". When Perdue and the rest of the country can confront the Jesse Jackson's of the world.... and when he can condem Johnny Cochran for his work to make sure "minorities" (ie blacks) are well represented among football management, and ..... oh wait..... the race card is always played in politics. Hmmmm Since Hispanics are a larger minority that blacks, where is their anti-white rantting. And let's not forget that NOW jumps on every issue that they believe to demean women - whether the majority of them do or do not agree...... and that when you have asians now at the upper tiers of scholastic rankings at virually all schools...... and......affirmative action at the university of Michigan ONLY applies to blacks and not other minorities..... and even Nascar is buckling under the threats of a Jesse Jackson protest of their sponsorors..... and are all the LEGAL immigrants from the middle east just assimilated into the batch.... and........

Seems a bunch of kids that wanedt to hang out with their own..... as do most adults - in where they live, where they work, where they party, etc. - white, black, hispanics, asians, etc....... why don't we leave the kids alone. They'll grow up, go to college perhaps, and experience real diversity.

O'rielly is OK with about 80% of what he goes after..... it's OK that he's not perfect. But it's nice to have an advocate for things that should be, but aren't. After all, we just lost Bennett as a spokesman. *sigh* Cause he wasn't perfect enough..... being 80 or 90 % good isn't enough for a prominent figure today. He or she must be perfect or controversy just swirls. That's a shame. I couldn't believe how many people were upset with Bush on the Abraha Lincoln giving his speech there. Politics - that's all.

Interesting that almost ALL politicians that live in the DC area (wher I am) send their kids to private schools. I wonder why. Surely it's not because they are against diversity, is it?

I like O'Reily most of the time..... and his only problem is he won't let go of something once he starts in on it. I think the kids were wrong, but they probably felt good about it. So..... the race card crops up and O'Reilly goes off. He's been doing that for years. Nothing new.

OK.... enough for me..... over to breaking news. *s*
