10-4, Loud and clear to Greybird, here in Mexico, the heard the same twist, with the same conclusions, and you did well in expressing the scenario as it is, as to how the 'rest' of the world looks upon the Act upon Iraq.

Well, if worse comes to absolute worst, you could print this article up and use it as toilet paper...

BWAaa ha ha ha! LOL!

Talk about sour grapes from socialistic peaceniks. The people who wrote that sort of anti-American propaganda would far rather have seen butchers like Hussein remain in power.

Too bad. Well, at least they can all go be human shields for the brutal dictator in North Korea next...

Funny how before the war, they were not saying that this was a third-rate dictatorship that could not fight. I remember them saying that Iraq was battle hardened and would fight to the death, that there would be tens of thousands of US deaths, that we would have to level Baghdad to take it, that the casulties would be 70% in house-to-house fighting, etc, etc, etc.

Funny how they don't remember their own words.

Good idea. Bottom line: America will never make the world happy. We plan too much, we're chastised for "self-deception." We plan too little, we're "cowboys." To hell with the puny nations...their opinions carry no more weight than a half-decent opinion columnist anymore.

I agree. When we stop worrying about other countries perception of us, the better off we'll be..

I am sure that Syria is so very UN-impressed right about now!

We'll be criticized no matter what we do or how impressive we look doing it, so we might as well do what we must and let (most of) the rest of the world stew in their envy soup.

What would happen if America ever had to face a real army?

And who the hell might that be? China in 25 years, maybe.

But right now no one can touch our brave men and women. The rest of the world should start acting like it.

Yeay, and what happened to the 'rush to war'? Before we were speeding into this at an insane pace, and now all of a sudden we spent way more time planning this than was needed.

Sounds like the EU is getting pissy because they and the UN are worthless impotent figureheads and everybody knows it. They hate it when the USA has the audacity to conduct foreign policy without UN/EU/NATO permission. Too bad, whiners!!

The way I see it, all the better that the rest of the world should underestimate us and think our feat in Iraq (and Afghanistan) as not that impressive. For like our president George W. Bush has learned, there is an advantage in being "misunderestimated."

Since the rest of the world evidently thinks we are a bunch of bumblers, they will likely not concern themselves with closing the military gap with us. This will ensure that the U.S. will remain the most powerful nation on earth for the forseeable future (not that we had anything to worry about in that respect anyhow).

What would happen if America ever had to face a real army?

Same thing that happened in WWI, WWII, etc. The "real" army in Iraq ran and hid behind women and children because they knew if they fought they would have been slaughtered.

The rest of world was told by their media that there were numerous other options (diplomatic, economic, etc.) that would have involved less death and destruction.

We've been trying these other options for years while Saddam slaughtered and starved his own people. While collateral damage is regrettable, far more Iraqi's would be alive today if we took this action sooner.

I don't know. There aren't a hell of a lot of them left in the world, and Spain doesn't have one.

Life sure does suck for the EU when the president isn't running after the Euro leaders like a 7-year-old trying to run with the big kids a la Bubba Klinton.

Weren't the Euroweenies predicting a "quagmire"? I don't believe that a third rate army is quagmire capable so explain the disconnect.
