Troop Prayer Thread 5

Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.

We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We have been keeping track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes. By God's grace, our and the world's prayers have been answered regarding the return of our POWs! We continue to hold vigil for those who are still in harm's way. Because stable government in Iraq and Afghanistan is a condition which reduces the risk of attack on our nation and her allies, and it thereby reduces the risk to our troops, we will also be holding vigil on this thread for the Victory War. In other words, we will be praying that the Victory won with the blood and sacrifice of our precious troops will not be lost by diplomatic or unwise negotiations. At all times we will be praying for only God's Will and Plan to be made manifest in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East region, and throughout the world.

If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, OR IF THE STATUS OF YOUR TROOPER HAS CHANGED please let us know so that we may correct the list. When your trooper returns home, let us know so that we may rejoice with you! We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.

We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.

The following American serviceman was listed HERE as missing during Operation Iraqi Freedom as of 6 p.m. EDT Thursday:

Army Sgt. Edward J. Anguiano, 24, of Brownsville, Texas. Missing after his convoy was ambushed in Iraq. Assigned to the 3rd Combat Support Battalion, Fort Stewart, Ga.

I know this thread if for the troops. But, could you spare a prayer today for my daugher, the wife of a deployed soldier. They were stationed in Germany when he was deployed so she's there. 2 of their 3 children are with her and shortly after the deployment she discovered she was pregnant. All has gone well and smoothly - she is a strong trooper and pray-er also but has been very sick since last week. Long story short - her OB said if she isn't better today she will have to go in the hospital, and there is no one at the base that with whom she feels secure leaving the children. Thanks. WN.

I know trust is a hard thing to come by...

We were fortunate in that we never found ourselves truly alone while stationed in Germany. OTOH, we frequently 'adopted' families whose husbands (or wives) went off on deployments.

The post chaplain and the unit's Command Sergeant Major are two good places to start finding help...that's the reason they're there.

Please, don't hesitate to tell your daughter she's in our prayers, and that we understand and appreciate her sacrifices. There's not much we can do to physically help her, but the offer is there nonetheless...spiritual assistance, advice, whatever!

Tom is on his way over now, his family were all there for the birth of their son/grandson.

I will pass along the prayers. I feel like if some of the ladies knew her situation right now she'd have plenty of help. But, she had a little problem when the guys were deployed. She had been the FRG leader for 2 years because none of the officer's wives wanted to do it. At the time of deployment she arranged meetings to fill the families in on what to expect and all. The colonel's wife and she had a bit of a disagreement and Jill resigned her position as head of the FRG. Now, she is sort of banished - possibly some of that her own doing.

She does have upstairs neighbors that are good friends. However this family is not quite as watchful and careful of their kids as my daughter and son-in-law so she's leary about that. I know God will take care of whatever happens. Someone would take care of my grandbabies but with Jill being pregnant I'm really trusting Him to heal her body and then she can get on with re-establishing some relationships.

I had no idea that was what was going on...I assumed (I know, bad!) that she was young and hadn't made any friends...had no idea she had made enemies!!! LOL!

It sounds like prayers are definitely in order...for her health, of for someone in her former circle to find forgiveness in her heart and help her through this time. I wonder, if she has the humility to ask for forgiveness and help...?

Hey, good news!! First I will say that those issues are some of the ones I'm praying for in Jill too. She has got a little pride thing going about the FRG. She knows she was right (and I agree she was) but the Colonel's wife trumped her after having nothing to do with the FRG for 2 years. So, she's holding a grudge and probably cut off her nose to spite her face in regard to the support SHE needs. And it's often one of the hardest lessons to learn to forgive when we had other people's best interest at heart.

In the mean time, I just got an email from her. I had copied and pasted your prayers and some from the Hobbit Hole in an email to her this morning. I just got a response. Here goes:

Please let everyone know that I feel 110% better today, I have put laundry away & washed a few dishes. The antibiotics really did the trick & by the way, I did not take those nausea pills anymore & I haven't need to. Please tell them thank you from me for all of their prayers & support.

Please send a prayer up for Emily, she has been running a low grade fever all day today. I know it is God who made me well, so that I can take care of Emmy.

We are happy to pray for your daughter, WN. She has a very hard job, and we are grateful to her.

Our Father,

We ask that you will direct your loving attention to the situation in which WN's daughter finds herself. We understand that she is in a far away place about to give birth and has felt isolated from her usual support groups. We understand as well that she has at the present time misgivings about giving the care of her children over to her neighbors while she is delivering her new baby.

Father, we do not know the causes for this situation, but not only do you know the causes, you know the solution. We invoke the solution which is in accordance with your Vision and divine plan for this family's life. Quicken the heart of the person whom you choose to be the one to care for the children while the baby is being born. Surround WN's daughter and her whole family with your comfort and strength and the love of our prayers. We pray for the health and safety of the baby and each of the children. We pray for the health and safety of these precious parents who are serving our nation so faithfully.

We invoke your mercy in the entire situation where there may be misunderstanding or miscommunications among the surrounding neighbors. We ask for true understanding and the intercession of your divine love to cut free from error in thinking and feeling all people surrounding WN's daughter. Cut free WN's daughter from anything which seeks to prevent her from fulfilling her divine plan in this situation. Send your angels to her and grant her illumination and wisdom and a listening heart for your guidance. Help WN's daughter recognize immediately the divine solution when you bring it to her. We praise and accept your mercy and guidance and will being done in this entire matter. We also ask that all which we have called forth for WN's daughter, we call forth for any and all who may be in a similar situation according to thy holy will and timing.
