Troop Prayer Thread 5

Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.

We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We have been keeping track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes. By God's grace, our and the world's prayers have been answered regarding the return of our POWs! We continue to hold vigil for those who are still in harm's way. Because stable government in Iraq and Afghanistan is a condition which reduces the risk of attack on our nation and her allies, and it thereby reduces the risk to our troops, we will also be holding vigil on this thread for the Victory War. In other words, we will be praying that the Victory won with the blood and sacrifice of our precious troops will not be lost by diplomatic or unwise negotiations. At all times we will be praying for only God's Will and Plan to be made manifest in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East region, and throughout the world.

If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, OR IF THE STATUS OF YOUR TROOPER HAS CHANGED please let us know so that we may correct the list. When your trooper returns home, let us know so that we may rejoice with you! We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.

We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.

The following American serviceman was listed HERE as missing during Operation Iraqi Freedom as of 6 p.m. EDT Thursday:

Army Sgt. Edward J. Anguiano, 24, of Brownsville, Texas. Missing after his convoy was ambushed in Iraq. Assigned to the 3rd Combat Support Battalion, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We have seen tornadoes hit our heartland in great frequency over the past several weeks and days. We have seen a very rare reoccurrence in the Oklahoma City area of a tornado following almost exactly the path of destruction of a previous tornado from a few years ago. We have even seen a few homes and businesses which sustained damage both times. Father, please bless all people in Oklahoma and all other states who have been affected by these tornadoes. We ask that you will intercede in their lives and give them strength and comfort as well as help in getting started once more in rebuilding. Father, we ask that you will intercede in the name of your Son, to calm the severe and devastating weather patterns which we are experiencing all over the world. In His name, we say, "Peace Be STILL!" Let the causes for these adverse weather conditions be healed according to thy will.

We have witnessed a murderous attack on Americans and others in Saudi Arabia in recent days. This situation has caused changes in perception and trust between the two nations. Father, some are saying that the leadership in Saudi Arabia is unfriendly to America and her stance for freedom for all. Others are saying that the Saudis have been seeking to cooperate. Father, only you know the whole Truth of the situation. We ask, wherever there are those who have good intentions toward genuine peace and freedom, let those intentions be strengthened. Wherever there is malintent, and a desire to destroy goodness in the earth, let those be minimized and mitigated. We ask that any and all forces who preach hatred born out of ignorance and malice be subjected to the healing power of your mercy. Set the little children free from those who preach that hatred and subjecting them to the brainwashing which encourages them to believe that giving their lives in suicide murder is a holy act. Father, take command of the entire situation in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Yemen, Qatr, Kuwait, Iran, and the entire Middle East and every Islamic nation on earth! Guide our leaders and all who have power to make decisions in these nations as they build a new platform of hope and freedom for their people. Let those who love you, in whatever religion, be able to hear your voice and prompting as to the correct Way to go. Strip from all of your children the delusions and errors which assail us here in this realm.

We continue to ask that you will guide, guard, direct and protect our President, George W Bush and all who surround him. Grant him wisdom and and extraordinary ability to hear your words whenever he bows his head in prayer. Grant each of his advisors wisdom and at least a glimpse of the Vision of the Plan you have for this nation and her people. Let the sense of selfless service pervade all branches of our government from top to bottom, at every level. Cut free ALL our representative from those momentums of selfishness and greed. Cut free our political parties from any and all contamination of abuse of power. Intercede in the matter concerning the seating of federal judges. Let only your will be done concerning the filibuster of those two nominees for the Federal Bench. Let only your will be done concerning the decision on the part of those in the Texas legislature to leave the state in order to quash redistricting legislation. Father, we ask for you to enlighten our people in every state and educate us and guide us as a nation on how to handle these matters which so divide us. Father, we ask that you will cut free, safeguard, and protect our ability to have a genuinely free press. Above all, we ask that you will intercede and help us to preserve the sanctity and viability of our divinely given Constitution.

We thank you for the many blessings you have given us. We count those blessings, from the biggest ones right down to the smallest. We are grateful for that Constitution. We are grateful that we have a President who is showing himself to be a capable leader. We are grateful for our military. We are grateful for our families, our friends, and love and prayers which continue to hold our nation together. Father, while we have many faults, we do ask that you will continue to bless America. Let thy will be done according to thy mercy.
