whoa, slow down there partner! Let's clarify a few things:
1) Trudeau obviously thinks that this topic has something to do with Easter, else why did he choose today of all days to address this topic, when so many other cartoonists are running Easter-themed cartoons.
2) I do not deny that there are many Christians that are able to reconcile Evolution with the Bible. I don't happen to be one of them, but I don't go around calling them myopic, and I wish you'd show me a similar respect.
3) What makes you think I believe "every single word" in the Bible is "literally true?" For purposes of this discussion, I merely state that I believe that Genesis chapters 1-2 are an accurate account of creation. There are plenty of words in the Bible that I don't believe are meant to be taken literally.

I can think of dozens of reasons why this particular strip ran today, but I can't think of a single reason why Trudeau would pull punches if he wanted to attack a religious group. If Trudeau wanted to comment on Christianity and/or Easter, he would do so quite directly, as he has on many other occasions.

Comic strip submission deadlines are usually weeks in advance of their publication date. He may have not consulted a calendar. If his life doesn't revolve around religious holidays (and it most likely doesn't), he might not have been aware that that strip's publication date was going to fall on a religious holiday. I don't see any overt signs in the strip that it was knowingly intended to be an "Easter" strip -- no colored eggs or chocolate bunnies, for example, which even non-Christians tend to indulge in on Easter.
