'Also worth pointing out that a couple of years ago Hillary referred to Christ in a speech, claiming that He was a "homeless person". In fact, Joseph and Mary had a home ... they were only in Bethlehem by government decree to pay taxes. Liberals: no honesty, no shame.'

What the Hillebeast was probably referencing was:
Matthew 8:20 (or Luke 9:58):
And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

During His time of ministry, however, He managed to "get by with a little help from his friends," like Mary, Martha, and Lazarus; many others too (see, e.g., Mark 14:12-17, Matt 17:24-27).

“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever.” Psalm 89:1

Words: John Greenleaf Whittier. This hymn, and We May Not Climb the Heavenly Steeps, come from Whittier’s poem “The Master,” in The Panorama, and other Poems, 1856.

Music: “Serenity,” adapted by Uzziah C. Burnap, 1856, from “Waft, Ye Winds,” by William V. Wallace, 1836 (MIDI, score).

Immortal love, forever full,
Forever flowing free,
Forever shared, forever whole,
A never ebbing sea!

Our outward lips confess the name
All other names above;
Love only knoweth whence it came,
And comprehendeth love.

Blow, winds of God, awake and blow
The mists of earth away:
Shine out, O Light divine, and show
How wide and far we stray.

We may not climb the heavenly steeps
To bring the Lord Christ down;
In vain we search the lowest deeps,
For Him no depths can drown.

But warm, sweet, tender, even yet,
A present help is He;
And faith still has its Olivet,
And love its Galilee.

The healing of His seamless dress
Is by our beds of pain;
We touch Him in life’s throng and press,
And we are whole again.

Through Him the first fond prayers are said
Our lips of childhood frame,
The last low whispers of our dead
Are burdened with His Name.

O Lord and Master of us all,
Whate’er our name or sign,
We own Thy sway, we hear Thy call,
We test our lives by Thine.

The letter fails, the systems fall,
And every symbol wanes;
The Spirit over brooding all,
Eternal Love remains.

O Lord and Master of us all,
Whate’er our name (( ship )) or sign (( flag )),
We own Thy sway, we hear Thy call,
We test (( sail )) our lives by Thine.

Joseph just disappeared from the scene. (After Luke 2:50 when Jesus parents were mentioned).

His sole merit, as far as I can tell, is drawing somewhat less badly than Ted Rall.

Xerox made a cartoonist out of Trudeau. I'm not sure Rall can be called anything except an angry, delusional young man.

You seem to be really worked up over this -- even more than I am.

When it comes to blatant manipulation and shameless string-pulling, you're damn right I get worked up. Christians deserve better than to have their energies wasted in such foolishness.

I have no idea why you would be worked up over your own troll post. Maybe it's the stirrings of that still, small voice somewhere inside?

but I do believe that Trudeau intended his message to be a veiled slur against the resurrection, and he is using an attack on Creationism as a vehicle to make his point. Since the resurrection is truly an essential dogma of all Christian belief, I contend that my title is accurate.

I've already seen through your tortured logic and pretend pathos. I'm sure there are people who will buy this particular load of shinola, but I'm not one of them. Heaven knows there are so many real attacks against Christianity that there is no need to go creating them out of thin air.

In my life, as an active researcher in Chemistry and Physics, science is just man's effort to understand what God hath wrought. The only people I see rejecting God in favor of what they call 'science' are those whose ego cannot stand the thought of a being superior to themselves

I, no doubt, have a much more limited science background than you, but it is much stronger that most. I have graduate courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology and a smackarale (sp?) of physics. Undergraduate courses in Chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology etc.

That being said, the more more I learn of the inner workings of the cell. The harder time I have even just contemplating that it was all just an accident.

I always thought it ironic that "B.C." became a Christian cartoon. If the characters lived in the B.C. era, how would they know about Jesus?

Okay, my standard two points here:

1) If we and everything in existence are the products of a random, meaningless process, then why are only sexual taboos undermined? Why do liberals like Mr. Trudeau so hopped up about opression, injustice, a global society, etc.? How does one infer from randomness some sort of moral imperative concerning these issues or any issues? Where does the crusading spirit of these advocates of ultimate meaningless come from? I will consider the possibility of their assertion when they begin to live by it and drop all their ideals, ideologies, causes, crusades, etc. and actually live as if their lives were as pointless as they claim to believe they are.

2) If George W. Bush has a moral obligation to accept evolution (which comes from where???), then why does Mr. Trudeau oppose Darwinism when it threatens to displace the traditions of, 'ow you say, indigenous pipples? When these people enter the picture suddenly the Sacred Truth of Evolution becomes the poisonous doctrine of a Dead White European Male and must never be permitted to sully the absolute purity of "indigenous" belief. Why does Mr. Trudeau oppose the teaching of evolution on Indian reservations or to Australian aborigines? For that matter, I once saw an "Afrocentric" Bible complete with essays by prominent Black Americans (including Jesse Jackson) that invoked the Biblical narrative to discredit racism and show that all mankind are literally related through Adam and Eve. Do you suppose Mr. Trudeau would ridicule these Fundamentalists? In fact, if Mr. Trudeau only advocates a "limited" truth to evolution (true for "rednecks" but not for Blacks or "indigenous pipples"), then perhaps he doesn't really believe in its "absolute truth" himself?

It is not possible to wholly believe the Bible, literally, and also believe in evolution.

Pope John Paul II :

In his encyclical Humani Generis (1950), my predecessor Pius XII had already stated that there was no opposition between evolution and the doctrine of the faith about man and his vocation, on condition that one did not lose sight of several indisputable points.

Today, almost half a century after the publication of the encyclical, new knowledge has led to the recognition of the theory of evolution as more than a hypothesis.

It is indeed remarkable that this theory has been progressively accepted by researchers, following a series of discoveries in various fields of knowledge. The convergence, neither sought nor fabricated, of the results of work that was conducted independently is in itself a significant argument in favor of this theory.

Yeah, I remember that Rush read a news article on his show about Hillary spewing such garbage.

Hillary completely ignored the fact that the lack of suitable accommodations was created by the government tax decrees.

Anyway, Mary and Joseph did find some lodging in the only room available in town, even if it was a crude animal shelter.

I never read Trudeau's comics, since they are just pure leftist bilge.

Matthew and Luke are the only two Gospels which deal with Jesus' early life. John doesn't, but mentions Joseph in 1.45 (Philip refers to Jesus as the son of Joseph). Mark 6.3 calls Jesus a carpenter and the son of Mary. The parallel passage in Luke (4.22) refers to Jesus as the son of Joseph; the parallel passage in Matthew (13.55) omits Joseph's name and mentions Mariam as his mother, but calls Jesus "the son of the carpenter." (Of course Matthew refers to Joseph by name in chapters 1 and 2.)

Of course then there is the recent find of a burial box, which is labeled James, son of Joseph and brother of Jesus.
Time will tell if it is authentic

g3 ...

evolution, as I have said many times is ANTI-SCIENCE.

The central point of science is the discovery of causes and effects and materialist evolution denies it. It proposes random events as the engine of the transformation of species.

This is totally unscientific, it is an attack on science which in order to expand human knowledge and human health and living standards needs to find the causes and effects of how our Universe functions.

Randomness answers nothing and leads to no discoveries.

In fact it opposes scientific inquiry and is a philosophical know-nothingism.

That is why evolution has been popular with the masses and virtually ignored by scientists.

It is ... pseudo-science --- for morons.

With a few words such as 'survival of the fittest' and 'natural selection' it seeks to make idiots think they are knowledgeable.

We see the idiocy of evolution and evolutionists daily on these threads. That is why they all repeat the same stock phrases, throw a few links (because they cannot even understand the concepts being discussed), but never give any facts showing their theory to be what they claim it is - the center of science. If it was, they should have no problem doing so. It is not, that's why they cannot.

sop ...

The theory of evolution is just that - a theory.

g3 ...

It may be a theory, but it is not a scientifically supported theory which is what evolutionists claim it to be. Anybody can have a theory about anything. It is whether a theory is valid that is the point. So you have not given any evidence for your side. All you have done is indulge in rhetoric, but you have not shown that evolution is science or have in any way refuted my statement that evolution cannot in fact be science because of its central proposition that 'evolution just happens'.

Such is not science.

To the contrary (of this cartoon), I think all these fields of study point to the Creator, and to His creation. Deep down I'm sure he probably knows there is God who created everything and everyone, but Trudeau is just refusing to acknowledge it. To admit this means to admit that God made it all and we must answer to Him.

Happy Resurrection day, believers in Jesus the Savior!
