"I don't know who was making decisions [about] Baghdad, but you can bet we protected these sites."

Umm... Sir ... There is a tiny bit of difference between the two situations, don't you think?

Other than that rotten inference, a very good article.

I found it surprising there were not many stories about this war being the 'end of the world' war. I mean, you just can't get any better scenario:
Clash of civilizations at the origin of the human race involving WMDs.
If that's not a recipe for Armageddon then I don't know what is.

Sorry for being off your topic but just thought I'd throw this in here.

I was just there last week. Ur that is. It was neat to see, but there is nothing else around. You would think that a place like Iraq would be a lot more advanced, considering it is supposed to be where everything started. Cradle of civilization my a$$.

They say Petra looks fairly impressive also, but not really keeping up with technology,...is it? Sortof interesting how those places that received Divine condemnation never seem to get over it,...go figure.

Ziggurat At Ur

I've read that during Abraham's time that Ur was a coastal city.

Thanks. Well the plot thickens. Some things were protected apparently as part of the plan. That is very good. That makes me happy but what also makes me happy is how miserable some Freepers are that this story of the museum and the antiquities will not go away. We told you the loss of that museum would not soon be forgotten.
