Sean Penn's stolen 1987 Buick Grand National has been recovered by police, but two guns that were inside the car remain missing.
The car was found Saturday in Richmond, about nine miles from the Berkeley street where it was stolen Tuesday.
A loaded 9mm Glock handgun and a .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver that were left inside the car haven't been found, Richmond police Sgt. Enos Johnson said.
The three-time Academy Award nominee had a concealed weapons permit for the guns, police said.
No one was in the vehicle when it was recovered, and no suspects have been arrested in the case, police said. The limited-edition Buick did not appear to be damaged, Johnson said.
The car was stolen off a busy Berkeley street while Penn and his assistant ate lunch at Venus restaurant.
Penn lives in Marin County with his wife, actress Robin Wright Penn, and their two children. He's expected to begin shooting a new film called "The Assassination of Richard Nixon" in Oakland next month.

What? A good Democrat owning a gun? Funny, I thought that Sean Penn believed in a non-violent approach to everything.
I wonder how Mr. Peace and Love justifies his multiple prosecutions for assault & battery?

Don't worry your little head about those little details. He's a well-paid entertainer, so he's above the contemptible serfs that we are.

Hasn't Penn been jailed for assault and hospitalized for drug dependency?I believe the answer is yes on both counts.
Don't these both make him inelgible for pistol ownership, much less a CCW?
A pardon would restore that eligability.

I guess it helps to be a famous liberal entertainer if you need a quick pardon and/or expungement.
But what do you put on the yellow form where it says "have you ever been hospitalized for mental problems" and "have you ever been addicted to drugs?"

Is he still over in Baghdad?
To: Travis McGee
Actually the terms regarding mental problems refer to involuntary commitment here in CT as to the drug question they lie.

I think that much of his drug history is public record, and he may have been ordered to accept in-patient drug treatment in court, but perhaps I am mixing his record with another hollywood lowlife.

It may be a "discretionary shall issue" kind of a thing for the "people like us" that the left doesn't fear. When the DiFi was Mayor of S.F., she issued nine carry permits, for herself and her cronies. IIRC.

Thanks for the info. I was just joking about Penn's car problems; I know nothing about collectible cars, but I figured it was something like that. I wouldn't be foolish enough to assume that Hollywood actually paid him what he was worth for movies like "I Am Sam" or "Shanghai Surprise," in which case he wouldn't be able to afford any better than an '87 Buick Century.

Now if these guns were used in an illegal shooting...can the surviors sue sean penn for failure to maintain control over his handguns
Even though Penn has had a conviction on an assault charge and a domestic abuse violation...HE GETS a CCW permit..in CA...
what an elitist scum bag

I'm sure that SEAN THE PAWN OF SADDAM, isn't worried because he believes he can buy his way out of any unpleasant consequences and mayhem that the criminals who stole his guns will unleash on the population.
[sarcasm and resentment of elite preferential treatment off]
