I saw that, but don't remember it being discussed here.

According to the report, France would vote "non" in the U.N.---against lifting U.N. sanctions. They want the U.N. to control oil sales, contracts in Iraq and supposedly that can't be done with the sanctions in place.

I say: Let 'em do it. Force their hand.

Let the world watch France refuse to lift sanctions imposed ON SADDAM, not the Iraqi people It will drive them further into thier self-imposed exile from the civilized world.

I'm sure we could find some Iraqi qualified to represent Iraq at the U.N. and request on behalf of the people that the sanctions be lifted. Will Mr. de Villepin stand up to THAT?

Jackie, did you hear Jay Garner, our new guy in charge of Iraq's transition from Saddam to freedom, on FoxNews yesterday? He knows the score and made it clear that the people of Iraq will choose their own government and future.

France and Kofi seem to think the freed Iraqis are stupid children in need of their supervision, yet the freed Iraqis have done more for themselves in days than Kofi and his "humanitarian" accomplices have done in years. 50% of the businesses in Baghdad are open for business - days after Saddam's statue was toppled.

Rummy made clear that one of the objectives of our current war plan is to uncover those who provided assistance to Saddam's regime....both individuals and countries. Saddam's French accomplices are pulling the noose tighter every time they make demands re. the free Iraq's future.
