"At first I thought it was a speech impediment and then it occured to me that there are other smart people who have speech patterns like that because they are very thoughtful and sometimes interrupt their train of thought. As a matter-of-fact, there's a famous person who often speaks that way...undergrad at Yale and MBA at Harvard."
:)
Another one with this adorable habit is Col. David Hunt. His brain moves a mile a minute and his mouth can't keep up.

Is Arabic the same as Farsi? A dialect of it, maybe? I know she's fluent in Arabic. Linda rocks :)

Yes, but I have to say, when people were criticizing Rummy, Togo stood right up and said, "we have enough forces on the ground to do the job" and he said the plan appeared to be sound.

Is Arabic the same as Farsi? No, Farsi is spoken in Iran and is the language of lands populated by Persian descendants.

Thank you for educating me on Farsi. :) I can never remember all the nuances of Arabic/Muslim/Persian cultures.

Farsi - Persian Language (FROM GOOGLE)
Persian Language, also known as Farsi, is the most widely spoken member of the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian languages, a subfamily of the Indo-European languages. It is the language of Iran (formerly Persia) and is also widely spoken in Afghanistan and, in an archaic form, in Tajikistan and the Pamir Mountain region.
Persian is spoken today primarily in Iran, Afghanistan, but was historically a more widely understood language in an area ranging from the Middle East to India. Significant populations of speakers in other Persian Gulf countries (Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates), as well as large communities in the USA.
Total numbers of speakers is high: over 30 million Farsi speakers (about 50% of Iran's population); over 7 million Dari Persian speakers in Afghanistan (25% of the population); and about 2 million Dari Persian speakers in Pakistan.

No it's not!
Regardless what they find, it was planted, it is a conspiracy, a plot to get Iraqi oil, a Zionist attempt to oppress the Arabs, a cover up for a failed military mission that has not yet taken Baghdad, a diversion of Bush because he is failing domestically. Do you really believe this or anything else will change the opinions/views of Martin Sheen or Moore?

It doesn't make sense because, as usual, you can't read.
Earlier in this thread and other threads on WMD finds, people talked about going to DU and gloating.
People have also talked about e-mailing people they know that are anti-war or believe Iraq has no WMDs and gloating.
Basically, that's a good way to get embarassed.
At this point I could care less about any WMD reports that are not out of the mouths of a public Doha or Pentagon briefer. And there will be some eventually. THEN people can gloat.

Tierney said they expected to find this underground lab but could not. He also was NOT suprised to find out about the weapons grade plutonium and thought that they were very close to a testable nuclear platform. Everyone sleep tight tonight.

P.S.- Only 2% of all shipping containers inbound to the U.S. are inspected on any given day. One 55 gallon drum filled with plutonium and a trigger......have a nice day.

What is confusing is that Farsi (and a lot of other languages that have nothing to do with Arabic, in Central Asia and India and Pakistan) uses more or less a version of the Arabic ALPHABET.
To: cgk
Yep.
I found it funny that somebody was copying posts from some threads here and then pasting them to DU.

Farsi - not to be confused with the Pharasees.

She was on Sunday nite. Her demeanor is happy no matter the story. I don't think her happiness/glee was a reflection of a desire for Gore to win. I don't either. She seemed more happy at reading the ruling than what it said. In any case, I can give her a break for misunderstanding the ruling at first glance...it was pretty chopped up, with dozens of concurring and dissenting sub-opinions.

That would be shipping containers inspected by the Democratically bought and paid for longshoremen.

Is Arabic the same as Farsi? Unrelated. Farsi is "Persian", the language the Iranians speak. They just both happen to be predominently Muslim.

LOL, close but no. The demoratically employed US Customs service which the rats never wanted to expand because it would cut the drug supply off to their voters. I used to work at a port shortly after my military days. Basically there are some good hard working officers in the Customs service. Then there are the guys with only one bullet in their shirt pocket. God help us all.

I think I need to educate myself on these cultures a bit more, seeing I have so many more questions about this. Google you say? :)
