Good morning, very sorry to be so late posting today's thread, but could not tear myself away from the TV...watching jubilant Iraqis 'tear down that statute' in the square! What a thrill to see it topple and watch all those Iraqi's jumping up and down, waving their t-shirts they stripped off, and affixing the Iraqi flag to the pedestal where Saddam's ugly statute once stood.

We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders of our great country in their hour of decision. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decisions.

Please give us the strength, Lord, to get through each difficult and devastating day that faces each of us and our country. Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Februay 9, 2002...Let Freedom Ring

Just behind the sound of Iraqis cheering, and the Chimes of Freedom, I could hear myself chuckling while reading the following little 'parable' a few minutes ago:

Five surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered."

The second responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians. Everything inside them is color-coded."

The third surgeon says, "No, I really think librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order."

The fourth surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers. They always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end and when the job takes longer than you said it would."

But the fifth surgeon shuts them all up when he observes: "The French are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls and no spine. Plus the head and ass are interchangeable."
