Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

We need to get the electricity on now. I'm sure that, and related utilities are a high priority.
The war isn't over, but today will probably be seen as the end of the regime, by most people. The coialition's job now is to finish the war, start an interim organization, and help the Iraqi people institute their own independent government.
To: Howlin
ROFL.....I think this is just the best: UNDER BUSH: Iraqis are free; Saddam is gone; Al Queda's on the run; Afghani's are free; the UN has proven itself irrelevant; the French, Russians, Germans have been proven to be accomplices to Saddam's military regime; Kerry's and Daschole's mouth have incensed millions of Americans, and.......
The Klintoons haven't even started on the manuscripts of their "books." ROFLOL!!!

Howlin, GREAT pic ! Did you hear what Rush said about why Hillary hasn't submitted her much-vaunted book to Simon & Schuster yet? He said she's been sitting back waiting to see how the war would go, so that she'll be on the side of popular opinion.

Just like my opposition asserted that they had supported the war, if they were in office.
BUT: I have to thank former President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton! He had done something, which was VERY important for the success of that war! During his 8 years, he kept on to eliminate the Iraqi Air Defense and Air Force by strikes from time to time ("just to protect the non-fly-zones") - but that was important so that the Iraqi Air Force had no control about the air space and the US pilots could fly over the country nearly undisturbed.
