"Most of the local cameramen have taken off and also the Info Ministry restricts coverage. I'll see what we can get in the way of video."
"It is really too bad in America. Do you have an audience in the states? (laughs)"
I would love to hear the other side of that conversation.

FN: Rick Leventhal w/ 1st Marines 3rd LAR: Roughly 10 miles from city...to secure perimeter of Baghdad from possible attack from the rear...numerous incidents...locals in the farmland...LAR busy blowing up whatever remnants they find...tanks, artillery pieces..hidden in trees..airfield now set up - the Marines are guarding to bring in supplies....saw steady stream of locals driving the other way in Bobcats...loaded down w/ generators...clearly there's been some looting going on...new construction vehicles...40 or 50 generators...15-20 Bobcats...it's very cloudy, had rain earlier - first rain we've seen since the sandstorm...heard a lot of artillery fire from our location...(can hear up to 18 miles)..Delta company was hit yesterday by some guys in a vehicle...just jumped out and started shooting...commander was hit 4 times but was able to shoot and kill attackers...will be. o.k, we have not seen organized (attacks) ..have seen a lot of abandoned bunkers...full of weapons.."do not trust anyone" that's the mantra for our guys...don't let your guard down. That's basically the code of conduct...we get a lot of waves a lot of smiles...that's great...BUT.. (David Asman breaks in...armed Iraqis abducted 2 German reporters)....it gets very dangerous once you stray from (military) protection...we have no interest in doing that..(David: "who is responsible for ongoing explosions in Baghdad?"...may well be Iraqi missile strikes...huge explosion, continues to burn, one report is that it's from the El Rashid hotel...showing live shots from Abu Dhabi TV (sp).) (Rick:)...these guys are in danger in every step they take within Baghdad...we know there are forces out here that are trying to kill (our guys)...they must remain vigilant, very, very cautious...we've seen evidence since day one that they are harrassing civilians and making them fight....told "you pick up a... gun or we will kill your family."...we have had some very positive experiences.....locals ..curious...we have interpreter..we have had some positive experiences with the locals...(David Asman: "According to Iraqi Info sources...Iraqi forces have targeted US snipers at the El Rashid hotel.." "that may be some trouble for journalists who are still hanging out in Baghdad")....

Nope, really heard that. ABC, John McWethy (sp?) from the pentagon, he didn't say when but Charlie Gibson asked him if we were planning to stay and he said he thought we were not planning to and would be pulling out.

It sounds like him...but I'm not sure either.

NTV: Peter Arnett reporting that about 6 miles from downtown, 3 homes in a residential area were destroyed (American bombs) and the families/residents buried in rubble. [Implied that the residential area was targeted and that this is one of MANY similar instances where civilians have been injured/killed--because of American bombs.]
Arnett says he doesn't know, but "all those bombs must be targeting something." [well, duh!]
Min of Info--- he was defiant this morning.
[webcam connection unstable]
Local camera men have "taken off" so is hard to get a crew for video--and the ministry restricts coverage.
It is really too bad in America. [have no idea what that was about---am getting his responses, but not questions being asked him---getting 1 side of a 2-sided conversation.]

If they were trying to impede the shipment of supplies to our troops they need to haul their @$$e$ to jail and put them up on treason charges.
If I'm not mistaken, "Treason" requires a declaration of war, but "sabotage" does not.

Agreed... the war dead on both sides are a cause for reflection and prayer.
We must rest in the knowledge, though, that the number of Iraqi lives which will be saved by this action are far greater than the number who have given their all for this freedom fight.
God Bless them all.

Does any know which direction the MSNBC and CBS Bag-Cams are facing? I've been looking at a Baghdad map to try to get some perspective, but I can't make anything out.

I hate it when rubber bullets get injured! :)

I'm a late joiner to the thread myself, but so far we believe we got Chemical Ali, there are reports that chemical weapons have been found, there's some shelling going on from the Iraqis, and Baghdad Bob is still in denial.

I think the cams face SE, away from the conflict. The Information Ministry has seen to that.

While we were getting exciting feed of great fireworks a few minutes ago (still ongoing) on either FOX or PMSNBC, CNN's Wolf Blixer was busy with an endless bit about the Russian ambassadorial convoy being shot up by those reckless American troops.
