they blew it up last name, I watched, it was totally surreal. They had a split screen of the statue being blown up, and Baghdad Bob saying there were no forces in baghdad..at all.

They blew up the one of him sitting on a horse. I wanted to see them get the one on BagCam. BTW, did anyone else notice that the one the Brits took down yesterday had a 155 mm cannon hole in its crotch. You can see daylight all the way through. Ya gotta love the British sense of humor

We were watching these events in real time.....classic, thrilling, and unforgetable moments!Fox scooped everybody.....blowing up the Hussein statue, tour of his castle, etc. No doubt you'll be seeing pictures of his bathroom: gold faucets, large room, etc. (I like my own one better...no gold faucets, but it's prettier IMo)

Baghdad is grey and smokey today. File that in the memory bank, for contrast with one week from now.

Three weeks ago it was March 17, and the UN was poised on its self-destruct button. Look at the change. Coalition is in Baghdad. Chemical Ali is gone. The end of a new beginning in Iraq is very close at hand. Many, perhaps most of Saddam's thugs have been killed.

I am awed.

It is unbelievably amazing that our troops have taken the airport, the palaces (2 at least), the parade grounds, most of the governmental "downtown" area, and yet...on the webcam traffic is moving, buildings (non-governmental) are standing, and life for the average Iraqi is going on (with maybe headaches from the bombing).

MSNBC floating some crap speculation that Blair will try to get more UN involvement in rebuilding Iraq, while Bush will want less. Bzzzzt. Bush and Blair will play the UN like a fiddle, further exposing its corruption and inteptitude. The UK also does not want to be subordinated to the EU, whether directly, or via pressure from the UN.
