I doubt it's a double - facial recogntion software could pick up a double. A double could never have EXACTLY the same dimensions between mouth, nose, eyes, ears.

Yes. But...he has several doubles. The original could have died any time in the last couple years. Maybe his sons Wussy and Pussy and the senior Iraqis find it convenient to put the doubles in front of the media periodically as "Saddam". Unless we have some absolutely authenticated recent footage of the "real" Saddam, how would we know? I say recent because as people get older their features change (nose and ears get bigger, etc.)

That Apache was NOT shot down, those guys dancing around the landed Longbow were NOT farmers - the official Iraqi explanation of the AH-64 downing (mechanical no doubt) was crafted to jibe with the tape that Saddam made before his death.

Could it have been "in the script" that farmers were suppossed to have shot down US aircraft? I'm sure Saddam had several pre-arranged scenarios taped and waiting to be played as events happened.

The dude has to get a lot more chatty about current events for me to be convinced that he is among the living.

A story which originated in Iraqi propaganda in the first place. The propaganda could have easily been framed to fit the tape. If Saddam mentiones a current event that was 1)not easily predictable before the decapitation strike and 2)outside Iraqi power to cause or fabricate, that will be evidence that he's alive. The "farmer shoots down helicopter" yarn fails the latter test.

Absolutely. And it jives with some of the other stuff that has been reported lately. Didn't I hear a report that Iraqis used copies of "Black Hawk Down" to train their commanders how to fight an asymetric battle with U.S. forces?

Sadam looked pretty bloated plus he looked as if he would wince when he lifted his arm. Perhaps his intestines are being held in place by duct tape and they have him on steroids.
