Regarding "preemptive war" and the President's policies:
If you are intending to speak to folks about the President's National Security policy, I suggest that you take a look at the following documents and not rely on any lamestream media source:
President Bush Delivers Graduation Speech at West Point - June 1, 2002
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/06/20020601-3.html and
The National Security Strategy of the United States of America
http://www.whitehouse.gov/nsc/nss.html The administration's philosophy and policy is more accurately described as the "Liberty Doctrine". The lamestream media has attempted to belittle it by calling it a "doctrine of pre-emption", but that is a gross mischaracterization, as you will note if you look into those documents. Preemption may fit into it, but it is not at all the meat and potatoes of the Bush Doctrine. The press has worked to demean it much as they did by calling it Reagan's "Star Wars".
I might suggest that it would be useful for you to bookmark these and check into them later when there is more time for perusal. Actually, the speech is fairly quick to read, and (as usual) a Bush home run and you may wish to look at it now. The Strategy paper is far more complex, and not a quick read.
I won't be around for discussion this morning (having gone 40+hrs w/o sleep yet again...) but you can FReepmail me if you like, and we'll have a discussion of it at a later date... or you all can have at it tonight. It would be a good 'un if the thread is slow today.

This is NOT in keeping with the humor here tonight, but it's fantastic nonetheless.
the story of the Iraqi man who spotted Pvt. Jessica Lynch in that hospital ... he risked life and family to get the word to our troops. Make THIS man head of gov't!
