One moment in this war I'd have loved to have seen on camera - the whole thing. Every last one of these mf-ing animals killed.

First thing wife said to me was, "they were raping her, that's why they kept her alive" and that was also the first thought that crossed my mind.

God, I pray for her healing. I pray she is restored. I am so glad she's alive though. Can you imagine the joy her parents are feeling right now?

Apologies for my ignornace, but does anybody happen to know what typically happens to rescued POWs? (Not that rescuing POWs is all that typical...) If they're not injured, do they join the rest of the company that they were originally with? Or do they get sent back home?

Yeah but the 507th Maintenance was all captured together, right? So it would lead you to believe they're all being kept with the same unit. I sure hope we have some news on the others, soon.

She was that support unit that took a wrong turn right after the war started...I think it may have been a support unit from the 3rd Army....she was one of the POWs shown on TV....they later found a piece of her bloody torn uniform.

If I remember correctly, the ones from Bosnia, were given a period of leave after they were rescued.

I can't imagine they'd get sent back to the unit anytime soon. There would have to be a very lengthy debriefing and evaluation, I'd think, at the very least.

Just like a typical Democrat. I respected him as a soldier during Gulf 1. However, he got tainted, IMO, w/Clinton and that dumb job as drug czar. Also, they are Anti=Rumsfeld because, (so I hear) because Rummy doesn't want a large Army, in the new hi tech war. He wants to rely on the Air Force & Navy to a greater degree.

I'm reading two threads quickly so may have missed a pertinent post, but I don't think anyone is bashing CENTCOMM or General Brooks (who seems like a great guy)...I think more than anything there's a bit of perplexity over how the media played the story and then why the conference was so short. In "real time" the story breaking was kind of confusing and the short conference a bit of a surprise. But they must not be able to say any more than they did for any number of reasons.

You are correct, it is wonderful news!! And I for one greatly admire all that the folks at CENTCOMM are doing.
