"It was wrong for Mr. Arnett to grant an interview with Iraqi state television," said NBC in a statement. NBC, MSNBC, and National Geographic have all fired him.
Arnett on live, apoligizing to "NBC, MSNBC, National Geographic, and the American people." He then goes on to say that all he said in the interview was "what we all know.

I'm actually shocked that NBC did this. I guess all those threatening emails they received in the first 24 hours really made a difference. Now I have to cancel my sell order on GE and Microsoft stock from my mutual fund manager, LOL!

Now if we can only get that scumbag Rather fired for what he said...

It was much too early for viewer outrage to get him.
This was BIG BOSS outrage, pure and simple.

Just watched the interview with Matt and Petah!! All the e-mails and phone calls helped. Do you think he learns lessons very well. He jokingly said he was probably going to swim to this small island where there weren't any people - well, maybe that is a good choice. A VERY HAPPY GOODBYE!!!!!!!!

Good riddens to more left wing rubbish.
It's like America is finally taking a bath.
After the war, I'd like to see the rest of the domestic sludge replaced with a more pro-American agenda.

When I called MSNBC last night and they asked me the nature of my call I told them, the comments of Peter Arnett, he took a long painful breathe and connected me to another person.
They I called National Geographic and gave them a piece of my mind too.

While our troops were in Germany?yup. in fact, it created a fairly hilarious time of confusion for cpusa, which first hated hitler, then loved him when the non-aggression pact with stalin was signed, then hated him again when he invaded russia anyway.

THIS IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF MR. ARNETT. JUSTICE SHOULD ISSUE A WARRANT FOR HIS ARREST.

He is on NBC now live with Matt lauer. Matt read the termination letter live about 5 minutes ago. Matt Lauer was basically giving Arnett the full Monica treatment, IMO.
NBC, MSNBC, and National Geographic are not ashamed of Arnett's views. They are mad and ashamed at the American people who were outraged by the traitorus Arnett.
It was very evident by the interview.

Illbay wouldn't know reality if it drove over him. Tailwind was a fake story based upon a senile nursing home patient and a alcoholic street ex-soldier. Arnett blindly read the voiceover. This time he is actively supporting a enemy of our men, at a time of war. Naturally this isn't obvious to IB. Knock it off. And have the "courtesy" to ping someone if you're mentioning them in your post.

ROFLMAO!!! GREAT NEWS!
To: Timesink
It is good they fired Arnett, but I want his partner in crime Brian Williams gone as well.
Williams is the commentator that compared the first day of the bombing of Baghdad to Dresden, and while waiting for the Pentagon press conference slurred Bush and said they were waiting for the Rummy "swagger" in to the briefing room.
To: mware
Call your local NBC affiliates and give them an earful, too. The networks tick off their affiliates at their peril.

I haven't received any emails back yet because I'm sure their servers crashed from the fire they lit. But they did the right thing. They were gaining on CNN in the ratings and did not need the pain of watching their audience leave in droves. All I can say is that it can not be comforting to be his crew there with him. Especially since he's worthless to the regime now, they have no reason to keep them there or alive. This might be a firing in more ways than one.
