Oakland, Calif. - NBCs Today Show, March 28th, Katie Couric interviewed grade school teacher, Elena Aguila(r?), who had taken 40 students to the streets carrying pictures putting faces on civilians and the children of Iraq. Aguila(r?)s 7th and 8th class had been exchanging emails with children in Iraq.
"Bush said no one supported Saddam, said one student, and the letters say they do. I was really surprised.
Schools are about to be empty. Our eyes never sleep. Why should war break our peace? It is not their oil, she reads from an email from an Iraqi student. Another student said he worries about the students he has not heard from recently comparing them to a person that has been kidnapped with no word if they are safe.
Couric responded many may feel Aguila(r?)s protesting students are pawns for anti-war protesting adults. The student responds: We have a mind of our own! Some students did refuse to march. We signed papers and were interviewed. I got interviewed a lot!
Aguila(r?) was surprised at the coverage her students have received adding, Its amazing the power young people have!

I wish Couric had interviewed those students who refused to march..but hey, why mess up a perfectly good story.

That's nothing. A high school boy in Houston called talk radio last night and told the mc that his teacher sat back in muted silence as the kids ended a discussion of the war with repeated chants of "Death to Bush". The radio guy said wait on the line, no I am serious, wait on the line, the secret service would like to know about this. there are laws against threatening the president.
We have raised a generation of a-holes. Good job folks.

I have doubts that those students were communicating with real Iraqi students. This is way out of line.

"Boy howdy, Bones. That Katie Couric and that grade school teacher have some nerve, don't they?"
"Both them Yankee bitches are dead, Jim!"
Want a break from war news? Go to Stark Trek for a laugh or two. Then come back refreshed and loaded for Katie!

I can imagine it is pretty easy to say you love Saddam with an AK-47 pointed at your head...

I have doubts that those students were communicating with real Iraqi students. Me too, but keep in mind all email accounts in Iraq are monitored. Anything less than praise and you watch your family tortured before your throat is slit or head cut off.

"Bush said no one supported Saddam, said one student, and the letters say they do. I was really surprised. What if perky Katie had been around in 1942? Interviewing students whose teacher encouraged them to correspond with Third Reich pen-pals? "Roosevelt said no one supported Hitler," said one student, "and the letters say they do." I was really surprised.

Another example of the fine education that is happening in the Public Leftist Indoctrination Centers. Marx would be so proud of these youngsters and their teachers.

I have doubts that those students were communicating with real Iraqi students Agreed. It had to be done within a school which was being closely watched on what was put into the emails. They expected I HATE SADDAM emails? Couric did little but the statement I included on some think the students are being used by adults
Makes me NUTZ!

Aguila(r?)s 7th and 8th class had been exchanging emails with children in Iraq. She knows for a fact that it was children responding?
Does she even know what a fact is?
To: swheats
True!! All I saw were dirt floors, guns and chem suits so far in schools......no computers available. AND....like the state wouldn't review all emails coming out of that country....sheesh....what crap!!!

How do these kids know that these are emails from Iraqi students? Isn't it conceivable that they come from the Iraqi Ministry of (Mis)Information? Iraq only has one, single, state-owned Internet provider, after all.

Yeah me too. I'm glad to see that Katie is still the Eva Braun of the Left!!
A real journalist would have said, "well yes, I'm sure they said that. But you are aware that they have to say that or their families and themselves will be killed in a plastic shredder".
