Thieves net haul of canned tuna
Police are still searching for 6,120 missing giant tins of tuna A massive haul of canned tuna has been netted by thieves who swindled a food supplier, according to police. Officers have recovered 1,632 of the outsize tins, but have yet to find a further 6,120, West Midlands Police said on Thursday.
The 1,880g tins of Meteor tuna were "fraudulently obtained" from a business in Dartford, Kent, on Wednesday, a police spokesman said.
"As a result of inquiries on Tuesday of this week, officers seized part of the consignment from a warehouse in Aldridge, Walsall, where the owner had bought it in good faith," he said.
Consumers in the West Midlands who have been offered a "fishy deal" on canned tuna are urged to contact police.
The tins are all marked with the serial number BCG2884.
The investigation is being led by officers working on Operation Coppergold, a crackdown on commercial vehicle crime and warehouse theft.

Something's fishy here. I suspect they're actually trying to obtain dolphins or porpoises.
Do you know the difference between Dolphins and Porpoises?
Well, you serve dolphin with white wine...

Here's an evil thought. What would happen if terrorists recanned the tuna with botchalism bacteria and then distributed it?

Local police are currently interviewing a skinny, gangrel creature by the name of Smeagol. He is considered the only suspect, as he had this to say:
"Rock and pool,
Is nice and cool,
So nice for feeet.
I only wish,
To catch a fish,
So juicy sweeeeet!"
