Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Shiites.

Look Appy, we both know that. But try convincing the world that Saddam wanted to use Chem Weapons by showing a bunch of Chem Suits - aint gonna happen.
It's going to be hard enough even if we have live Al-Jazeera video of Saddam personally pouring the poison into the warheads and pulling the trigger!
The "why do our guys wear them" argument is EXACTLY what the left will use against us. We need better ammo!!
To: An.American.Expatriate
this is a totally illogical argument! Chemical Prtoection Equipment only proves they intended to defend themselves from exposure. True .. but the chances if that being the only reason are really really slim
As for the media reporting on any findings .. they don't want to .. it doesn't fit their agenda
O'Rielly had a gentlemen on the other day discussing this .. Bill asked if he hoped that we didn't find anything .. he never admitted it, but the silence from him spoke a thousand words
The facts and truth will come out .. They always do

The USA has not signed certain recently-added provisions to the GC, which (I think ????) deal with land mines. The USA intends to continue using land mines. But unlike some other countries, we actually KNOW where we put ours...

Fox is reporting that 1000 Iraqis plus 4 Iraqi ex-Generals have arrived in Kuwait. They'll be used in this conflict by the military. This can't be true. There are other reports saying we are deliberately suppressing Iraqi exiles.

Iranians are Shiite's.
To: Warren_Piece
You, know, that could have been a little prank from our side. I have seriously considered going to all the houses with "No war" signs late at night, and placing "Saddam's best Friend" signs right next to them. My lastest Idea is to place Iraqi Flags next to their signs.
Great idea!

Screw the left. We can't make them happy and we shouldn't try. Just point out their idiocy for the world to see.

Fox news had some reports on today that our soldiers were seeing some Iraq soldiers wearing chem suits and carrying drums of something. Might be a good idea to get ahold of those drums of something soon.

That will be harder than convincing the French to fight!

Re: the UN. It looks like the vote for Iraqi post war aid is stalled?
I hope we make it permanently stalled.

FN: Geraldo w/ 101st, Screamin' Eagles: "been a magnificent day...sky is clear..bad news for Saddam Hussein...most forward base of the 101st Airborne..choppers coming in one after another...many thousands of troopers...now on the left flank to the W. of the 3ID...briefed...the tactical intel officer said they did not expect the resistance...but the adaptability of this plan is the "headline."

LOL. The UK forces brought in exiles to help explain to the people in the south that we are there to help, provide aid, and we won't leave until saddam is gone. These poor people got burned the last time so bad, they just can't bring themselves to trust us this time.
To: js1138
Depends on where you get your info. The four generals are with the Brits in seclusion and HIGHLY protected. At least this is what the Fox reporter in Kuwait is reporting.
To: epluribus_2
I just want us to blow some shit up today. Pardon my french. The air is clear, we own the skies, let us take out so many tanks today that the Iraqi military is forced to travel around in nothing larger than a Yugo.
Let's accidentally lob a cruise missile into the presidential palace in Syria while we are at it.
