It's really not good news. Europe will pay the penalty, but so will we. A weak socialist Europe is still a better neighbor than a Muslim Europe under sharia law, which looks to be the most likely future.

The authors said that the changing role of women was a significant factor in the projected population decline. Many were putting off having their first child to concentrate on their education or career.

Yep, that is one of the big factors in the overall decline in birth rates throughout western civilization. I have nothing against women choosing to go into professional careers per se but it does have its consequences. Especially when the 3rd world, particularly Islamic Nations, have very high birth rates. And If Europe becomes dominated by Muslims I seriously doubt there will be many women concentrating on their careers, much less an education.

Seems that the great success of Western Civilization has planted its own seeds of destruction.

This is a sign that they have lost faith in their future. People tend not to have children if they think the kids will be worse off than themselves.

Women working outside the home, and easy availability of contraception and abortion, also play a role.

All in all, the sign of a society in decline. We will leave them in the dust in the century to come.

The birth rates in all the European countries are way down except for their immigrant population whose population is exploding. As I understand it Holland will be the first country in Europe with a Muslim majority. Other countries will follow. I think it was the Scandinavian countries who would follow Holland.
