Woods Lends Support to Troops Overseas

26 March 2003 by Tiger Woods

I have great respect for the men and women fighting overseas to protect our way of life in Iraq and other parts of the world. As the son of an Army officer, I understand the strength, courage and discipline required to successfully carry out their missions in hostile environments and feel tremendous pride they are representing us.

Obviously, no one likes war. Our Congress and President tried hard to avoid the use of force, but ultimately decided it was the best course of action. I like the assertiveness shown by President Bush and think we owe it to our political and military leaders, along with our brave soldiers to be as supportive as possible during these difficult and trying times. I just wanted to take this opportunity to let our forces know that I am thinking about you and wishing you and your families the best.

This is REALLY big news for our side.

Tiger Woods' endorsement for ANYTHING is considered to be among the most valuable in the world. This is big-time bad news for the left, and we need to get the word out!

WOW!

Woods never comments on political situations. This is truly a shock.

Hopefully, Martha Burk has fainted at this news ;-)

A person has class if they agree with your postition. Until they disagree, then they are lowlife scum.

I like the way Tiger plays golf, I like the press release that he made on this subject. I dislike other things about him.

People are into hero worship, it's a pity.

I've always liked Tiger. He's excelled in a sport at a VERY young age and doesn't expect special treatment because he happens to be black. Actually, I guess he's half black, half asian.

Rush published an interview with Tiger's dad in the fathers day edition of the Limbaugh letter last June. I was SO impressed with this mans work ethic and the moral structure that he instilled in his son. Tiger is the man he is because of his dad.

Yes, I am. I have six brothers and two sisters. I am the seventh son - and according to legend and song - there is only one in the world. That's me! 8-)

Tiger is America in the flesh... feared, awed and hated because he is so damned good.

That's an amazing turnaround. Her acting career went up in smoke because of her open and vocal opposition to the Vietnam War. Are you sure she's on our side?

Eartha Kitt had a lot of enemies besides the ones in the Vietnam War. I don't think WABC has radio archives, but she sure made it clear she's a big Bush supporter (and not just in the war either).

People hate people who succeed because it shows their own personal, woeful inadequacies. It shows their failure to achieve anything great because of their excuse mongering.

Look at Al Gore.

That's true. OK why are so many people not fans of people who make it to the absolute top of their profession through hard work, being a student, sacrifice. What are so many people not fans of all the $, success and recognition that brings?

I appreciate people that work hard for what they have and do not begrudge them a cent - In fact I will go you one better I have a philosophy that each person is worth exactly every cent they are paid regardless of how hard people think the work or don't work. In other words each of us is getting paid exactly what we deserve. Someone who works his tail off and gets less than a person in the same position who works less and gets paid more deserves what they get, because that is what they are willing to accept. Anyway if you read my original post you will see that I said I like Tiger more as a person than a golfer. I do think he is the best golfer of our time.
