GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Greenville Braves stadium near Mauldin will be draped in red, white and blue for a rally Sunday afternoon in support of American troops and their families.
Organizers said that the event, called Rally for America, will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The free event is billed as a non-political, patriotic event designed to show of support for troops and families.
Organizers said that they want men and women in uniform to know that whether Americans agree or disagree with the war in Iraq, the nation stands behind those troops.
A ceremony planned for the rally will include a retired U.S. Army general, U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Upstate, the Laurens High School ROTC Color Guard and music by the Greenville Seniors Band.
The event is sponsored by Clear Channel Radio of Greenville, which includes radio stations WSSL (100.5 FM), WMYI (102.5 FM), WESC (92.5 FM), WBZT (96.7 FM) and WGVL (1440 AM).
