Peter Jennings Blames the U.S.
for Saddam Hussein's Cruelty

03/24/2003
Last week, the Media Research Center released a report demonstrating that Peter Jennings has offered the most consistently anti-American, pro-evil dictator reporting of any U.S. news broadcast. Not surprisingly, he continues unabated.

Friday night, March 21, at approximately 10:45pm EST, ABC presented a taped interview of four Iraqi women by Barbara Walters. These women, now living in the United States, told horrifying tales of Saddam Hussein's cruelty. Walters finished the interview with agreement by all the women that Iraqi citizens will be "rejoicing when the Americans arrive."

Following the taped interview, Walters joined Jennings live: "One of these women took part in the uprising in 1991 and waited for help, the help did not come, and she finally escaped to this country. So she has somewhat mixed feelings, you know don't ask us to rise up and then not help us."

A legitimate complaint, yet the primary focus of the women's message was an evil dictator's use of torture to keep people subjugated by fear. Rather than expand on their point that Saddam Hussein is a despicable and heinous monster, hated by the Iraqi people, Jennings had this to say:

"Yeah, I think, you know, who's to guess the future, but I think a lot of Iraqis have some mixed feeling. It's often been said by the Iraqis, we'll be greeted by bullets, the U.S. forces, that the U.S. thinks it will be greeted by flowers. But the truth is the United States enabled Saddam Hussein to stay in power for a very long period of time, led the campaign to keep sanctions on him for a long period of time which hurt the Iraqi people and when there was the uprising to which you refer in 1991, the United States, at least in their mind, encouraged them to go and then didn't support them as they had anticipated. So these are issues for the future."

Here are a few points for pompous Peter:

Apparently no low is too low for 'Appeasement Pete'. No matter how cruelly inhumane Saddam proves to be, Jennings finds the United States far more distasteful. I invite you to contact him with your thoughts. Below is the contact information. And further, encourage your friends, relatives and neighbors to get their news from someone who doesn't openly despise our country.

Eisner needs to can Jennings!

No, . . . just make him the News Bureau Chief for French Guiana’s Devils Island. That's a job that befits his abilities.

"Why do you guys want to kill everyone who doesn't agree with you. It reflects badly on conservatives."

Are you Peter Jennings' mother?

Okay - we don't really want him dead. We are just expressing our dislike creatively. And that's a good thing!

Thanks for the link to their e-mail. I sent the following missive . . .

To Peter Jennings' handlers,

I personally have had all I can stand of the Anti-American "reporting" from Appeasement Pete. His latest comments to Barbara Walters, essentially blaming America for the actions of Saddam Hussein, have taken ABC News "journalism" to a new low.

I will continue to observe World News Tonight for the sole purpose of determining which companies continue to advertise on this program. I will be contacting these companies to encourage them to use their advertising dollars more wisely and support news programs that do not condone such Anti-American bias and rhetoric. I will also inform them that if they continue to advertise on World News Tonight, I will no longer be purchasing their products due to my dissatisfaction with their implied support of Peter Jennings and World News Tonight.

Sincerely,

*****

"It's been well noted that ABC has been way out in front in their liberal bias regarding reporting on the war and news leading up to the war."

As well as the rest of the Liberal-Socialist ilk at all the other "news" vendor outlets that've successfully taken over the planet's communications.

"It makes me wonder if there hasn't been a decision at ABC to try to create a faithful audience out of the 20-30% of Americans opposed to the war. From a numbers standpoint, given the competition, if they get a significant portion of that number, they can be successful."

Maybe, but...

"They've probably jettisoned any hope of getting conservatives to tune in and maybe have done the same with even moderates. What do you think?"

I think the Liberal-Socialists are well past some "point of no return" with respect to what they've tried to pull.
In short, they're so committed, have so compromised themselves there's now simply no turning back for them individually or collectively.

The Liberal-Socialists know what they've done -- & especailly at the alphabet nets -- that in all likelyhood, & from their POV, the opposition [read: us] are going to take no prisoners, anyway. [read: their careers are kaput]

At this point, & given their behavior?

...they've become political kamikazes.

HA!!
You don't know me, do ya?
I can be quite disagreeable & now you've really gone & hit my hot botton, here. ;^)

The Three Stooges are niether "poor" or "misguided."
They are in fact over paid & are quite deliberate in their action; nor, are any of 'em in possession of a soul with which they could lose.

Now to your credit?

...they certainly are biased & Liberal. {g}

Funny how they forget Clinton's role in this. And why blame it all on the US? Why not France for goodness sakes? Didn't they put pegs in our wheels for this objective? It's not like we did not care. But Jennings surely does not. The man is a lunatic obsessed with America losing. Give it a break Jennings and take a vacation, crap.

I acutally heard him say this. I can't print what I said to my TV

With cable TV and satalite TV they know exactly who is watching their programs. That is why I will never watch anything that I don't want to contribute to their viewer ratings.

....Don't you imagine they are embarrassed>>>>

I can't really tell. I would think that they would be. We are a conservative bastion, even the Rats are pretty conservative. I think I wouldn't enjoy notes from viewers expressing shame because the TV station has anti American views.
