Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I'm thinking of outside speakers for my deck.
Hopefully somebody will come along and tell me a good one to buy, not too expensive!

Well, here in my computer room I am surrounded by a 1939-ish looking replica radio, a commemorative tin of King George V and Queen Elizabeth's 1939 visit to the USA, and my garden books. On the other hand, the real Miss Marple didn't have a coon hound and did not sit around in jeans and tennis shoes. LOL!

LOL, soldiergirl, sounds like my house!!! Hubby and daughter are picketing for more groceries and home-cooked meals. The cats are picketing for a catbox cleaning!!! ROTFLOL!!
LOL! Sounds like my household. Cats got very angry yesterday. Declared a National Bad Cat Day. Knocked a few lamps over. Pushed a teacup off the table. Left their toys on the staircase and I tripped on one. I never have any warnings about these Bad Cat Days but I am convinced it is a national movement.

I tore myself away from tv & computer long enough to take my daughter to the mall. When she started getting on my nerves I said" there are better ways I could be spending my day!" She says"yeah what? Glued to War coverage and Freerepublic?!

Nice.
Fox News - The Kuwait City bomb squad exploded a suspicious package in an SUV (that package was the focus of the bomb threat).

Iraqis with bullets holes in their heads, dead, or otherwise beaten up? I have never seen it.
I have only seen peaceful surrenders of Iraqis.
Our guys did not surrender.

Are the Scots DG the front line troops - the ones who traditionally marched resolutely in front, drawing enemy fire? The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are cavalry forces; they are equipped with the Challger 2 MBT, equivalent to the US' Abrams MBT. Dragoons traditionally were light infantry forces mounted on horse; they would traverse rapidly on horse, then dismount to fight.

For the record, our President NEVER said that this was a going to be a short war. I hate the media mischief-makers.
William La Jenesse (sp) Kuwait City:
Kuwaiti military brought in the bomb squad, cordoned off the streets. Exploded a package. There was a round up of militants. "The way the Arab media is playing up this war is inflaming emotions of very many people." Hotel security had a lockdown situation, had everyone stay in their rooms. We keep drapes on windows on all times.
