Michael Moore booed as he slams Iraq war at Oscars March 24 2003
Famed US documentary maker Michael Moore used his win of an Oscar today to launch a violent attack on US President George W Bush and war in Iraq amid loud boos from the audience.
"We live in fictitious times," he said when picking up the award for best documentary for his anti-gun film Bowling for Columbine.
"We live in a time with fictitious election results that elect fictitious presidents. We live in a time when we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons.
"We are against this war Mr Bush. Shame on you. Shame on you!," he said to loud boos from an audience of 3,500 including most of Hollywood's top stars.
When he went backstage at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre to face reporters, Moore was unapologetic for his outburst.
"I'm an American, and you don't leave your citizenship when you enter the doors of the Kodak Theatre. What's great about this country is that you can speak your mind," he said.
He said that, far from being appalled, many people in the audience stood up to applaud him.
"I say tonight I put America in a good light," he said praising the decision to push ahead with the Oscars despite the war raging in the Middle East.
"I showed how vital it is to have free speech in our country and all Americans have the right to stand up for what they believe in," he said.

Notice how the media (and I've looked at various news feeds) never refer to him as a "leftist" or "liberal". It's always "famed documentary maker" or "contrarian". If it were a conservative, he would be tagged as a "far-right documentary maker" and would likely have his work characterized as "hateful" and "revisionist" by these so-called objective news sources. It's good to hear Moore was booed. It's laughable that he thinks he's being a good American by his behavior; it's not all about rights, it's about restraint and responsibility, especially when we're at war. Given Moore's waistline he obviously knows little about these two virtues.

Thanks for the post ...
I was too busy with my own life to take the time to watch a lot of Bozo's, aka the oscars. Not watching the oscar's (I meant not to capitalize oscar) helped my blood pressure stay low. It was good to hear what occured and not much of a surprise, I must say. Micheal Moore is an idiot and will always be an idiot ... but then, he is the idiot that Hollywood loves. Why else would he win anything. In real life he is the greatest of all losers!

Apologize if this already posted -- it was from January:
American satirist Michael Moore has stormed out of Britain after a bust up with the London theatre hosting his one-man show. The Bowling For Columbine moviemaker performed Michael Moore - Live! to packed audiences for two months before Christmas at The Roundhouse in Camden, North London. But on the penultimate night he reportedly flew into a rage, verbally attacking everyone associated with the theatre because he thought he wasn't being paid enough. During the performance he complained he was making just $750 a night. A member of the stage crew says, "He completely lost the plot. He stormed around all day screaming at everyone, even the £5-an-hour bar staff, telling them how we were all conmen and useless. Then he went on stage and did it in public." Staff retaliated by refusing to work the following night, which led to the show being held up for an hour. Eventually he made a groveling apology to staff and the angry audience finally took to their seats. A source reports that Moore then packed his bags and flew to New York the next day without saying thank you or goodbye to anyone.

I remember a debate I had with one of my not to bright leftist friends, and it was about the failure of talk radio to get someone like left wing Rush, I mentioned Michael Moore, and the first words were "Oh god no, I may like his opinions, but even I hate the guy, no one likes him personally, the left just likes his views, he's annoying".

Moore's comments on 9/11 as printed in the Wall Street Journal:
"Many families have been devastated tonight. This just is not right. They did not deserve to die. If someone did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Boston, New York, DC, and the planes' destination of California--these were places that voted AGAINST Bush!"
In other words, "Next time try to just kill the Republicans."

Steve Martin was the saving grace at the end of the show by blessing the kids overseas. He also said that Moore was still being quite vocal as he was escorted to his limousines trunk by a few teamsters. And I thought they were all part of the Democrats.
It wasnt made known to the audience that Salma Hayek was portraying a rabid communist, nor was I encouraged by the discomfort seen among the crowd during the Twin Towers documentary win. Meryll Streep was magnificent in her presentation. The insults to the righteous continued with awards to Roman Polanski and suspension of their own time rules when anti-Americanism ranted.

There's a great site that debunks Moore....
http://www.moorewatch.com and it's got some in-depth poop on the so-called thinker/activist, real-life college dropout.
He's outlandish, but not much worth our angst -- if it weren't for all the limp lobed groupies that are gravitationally drawn to his mass.
I love how he got an Oscar for a "Mockumentary" that doesn't even meet the Oscar board's stated standards for a documentary. Like Carter's Nobel prize.... some political shenanigans are afoot.
Shame on YOU Mikey!
